Mesotherapy and Carboxytherapy Injection Device
Description
The mct injector is an advanced mesocarboxytherapy device by mesoestetic that combines two complementary techniques—mesotherapy and carboxytherapy—in a single unit. It enables precise, programmable injection of active ingredients for mesotherapy together with controlled delivery of medical CO₂ for carboxytherapy, allowing the practitioner to perform multiple facial and body treatments in the same or alternating sessions. Designed for maximum comfort and efficiency, the injector features an ambidextrous, lightweight ergonomic handpiece, an intuitive touch-wheel with high-definition colour screen, and directional lighting of the treatment area. It can operate on Li-ion battery or mains power (90–240 V) and is compatible with standard syringes and needles, without requiring proprietary consumable kits. The mct injector is intended for professional use in aesthetic medicine for indications such as skin rejuvenation, treatment of wrinkles and cellulite, improvement of local circulation and oxygenation, and overall skin quality enhancement on the face and body.

Usage
- For professional use only: The mct injector must be operated exclusively by physicians or appropriately trained healthcare professionals experienced in mesotherapy and/or carboxytherapy, in accordance with local laws and professional guidelines.
- Before first use, read the full manufacturer’s instructions for use (IFU) and safety information, and complete any recommended training provided by mesoestetic or its authorised partners.
- Check that the device, power supply, CO₂ connections, tubing and all accessories are intact, clean and functioning correctly; do not use the device if any damage or malfunction is suspected.
- Connect the device to mains power and/or ensure the internal Li-ion battery is adequately charged according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
- For mesotherapy: Load a suitable sterile syringe with the chosen mesotherapy solution (e.g. vitamins, minerals, hyaluronic acid) following aseptic technique, connect it to the device’s luer-lock interface and attach an appropriate sterile needle.
- For carboxytherapy: Connect the device to a sterile medical CO₂ source (e.g. cartridge or cylinder) as specified by the manufacturer, ensuring all connections are secure and leak-free.
- Programme the treatment parameters on the touch-wheel and colour screen, including injection depth, speed, volume and mode (mesotherapy or carboxytherapy) according to the selected protocol and patient needs.
- Prepare the patient’s skin by cleansing and disinfecting the treatment area; follow standard aseptic procedures throughout the session.
- Perform the treatment using appropriate injection techniques and patterns for the indication (e.g. nappage, point-by-point, linear threading, fan technique), ensuring that depth and pressure are consistent with protocol and patient safety.
- Monitor patient comfort and response continuously during treatment, adjusting parameters if necessary within safe limits.
- At the end of the session, safely dispose of all single-use components (syringes, needles, tubing, CO₂ cartridges) in approved clinical waste and sharps containers.
- Clean and, where applicable, disinfect reusable external surfaces of the device according to manufacturer guidelines; do not immerse or autoclave the electronic unit.
- Document the treatment parameters and areas treated in the patient’s medical record, including any adverse reactions or post-treatment instructions provided.
Contraindications
- Use in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the substances to be injected (mesotherapy products) or contraindications to CO₂ insufflation (carboxytherapy).
- Use in areas with active infection, inflammation, ulceration or severe dermatologic disease at the intended treatment site.
- Patients with severe cardiovascular or respiratory disease, uncontrolled hypertension or severe peripheral vascular disease where carboxytherapy may be contraindicated.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding, as a precaution for elective aesthetic treatments, unless explicitly cleared under local guidelines.
- Patients with known bleeding disorders or on significant anticoagulant/antiplatelet therapy where injection procedures pose increased risk, unless assessed and managed by a physician.
- Use in patients with severe systemic illness, uncontrolled diabetes or other conditions that could impair healing, unless specifically evaluated and approved by a physician.
- Any general contraindication to mesotherapy or carboxytherapy procedures as determined by a qualified healthcare professional.
Adverse Effects
- Typical injection-related reactions such as transient pain, burning sensation, erythema, local swelling, mild bruising or haematoma at injection sites.
- Temporary sensations of warmth, pressure or discomfort in the treated area, particularly during carboxytherapy due to CO₂ infusion.
- Rare local inflammatory reactions, nodules or persistent oedema at injection sites, which require clinical evaluation and management.
- Very rare risk of infection if aseptic technique is not strictly followed.
- Risk of vasovagal responses (dizziness, faintness) in sensitive individuals during injection procedures.
- As with any injection device, incorrect technique or parameter selection may increase risk of complications, including inadvertent intravascular injection or tissue damage; the device must therefore be used only by trained professionals.
- Any unexpected or severe adverse event should be documented and managed according to clinical protocols and, where applicable, reported to the manufacturer and relevant regulatory authorities.
Storage Conditions
- Store the device in a clean, dry environment protected from dust, moisture and extreme temperatures, within the range specified in the manufacturer’s documentation.
- Keep the device in its original case or on a dedicated stand when not in use to prevent mechanical damage.
- Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, strong magnetic fields or sources of vibration that could affect electronic components.
- Recharge and store the Li-ion battery according to the manufacturer’s instructions, avoiding complete discharge for prolonged periods.
- Store CO₂ cartridges or cylinders upright in a cool, well-ventilated area in accordance with gas safety regulations and supplier instructions.
- Ensure that only sterile, single-use syringes, needles and tubing are stored in appropriate conditions before use.
- Keep the device and all accessories out of reach of unauthorised personnel and children.
Duration
Treatment duration depends on the indication, treatment area and protocol selected. Typical facial or local body sessions may last from 15 to 45 minutes. Courses usually consist of multiple sessions (for example 4\u201310 sessions spaced 1\u20134 weeks apart) for mesotherapy and/or carboxytherapy, with maintenance sessions scheduled according to clinical judgement and patient response.
Onset
Some patients may notice improvement in skin hydration, tone and radiance within days of mesotherapy or carboxytherapy sessions, while more substantial changes in firmness, texture, wrinkles or cellulite typically develop progressively over several sessions and weeks. Exact onset and degree of effect vary according to indication, protocol and individual factors.
