Electric multifunction medical treatment chair
Description
The Capre MC Medical Chair is a multifunction electric treatment chair from Lojer, designed together with healthcare professionals to meet modern care requirements in dialysis, cytostatic therapies, day surgery recovery and general examinations. The chair features a modular structure, anatomically contoured upholstery and an intelligent 24 V electric control system with pre-programmed positions. Motorised adjustment of height, back, seat angle and leg section, combined with mechanical head section length and angle adjustment, allows safe and ergonomic patient positioning from sitting to full Trendelenburg and resuscitation positions at the touch of a button. Central locking castors and integrated USB charging enhance usability in busy treatment environments. The chair is a CE-marked MDR-compliant medical device with a safe working load of 160 kg.
Bnefits
- Multifunction design suitable for dialysis, cytostatic treatments, day surgery recovery and general medical examinations, reducing the need for separate chairs or beds.
- Electric 24 V low-voltage system with motorised height, back, seat and leg section adjustments allows quick and precise positioning with minimal physical effort for staff.
- Trendelenburg and resuscitation / full lying position achievable at the press of a button, supporting rapid response in emergencies.
- Intelligent control system with three pre-programmed positions (chair, beach chair and flat lying surface) plus one user-programmable memory position improves workflow and consistency of positioning.
- Anatomically contoured, luxurious upholstery and modern design improve patient comfort during long treatment sessions and enhance the appearance of treatment rooms.
- Versatile arm supports with height, angle adjustment and 180° rotation remain horizontal regardless of backrest angle, maintaining comfortable arm positioning for infusions and blood access.
- Central locking castors and compact footprint make the chair easy to move and stabilise, improving safety and flexibility in treatment areas.
- CE-marked MDR-compliant medical device manufactured in Finland under certified quality systems, with safe working load of 160 kg and robust construction for demanding clinical use.
Indications
- Patient seating and positioning for dialysis treatments.
- Patient seating and positioning for cytostatic (chemotherapy) treatments.
- Recovery and monitoring after day surgery and minor procedures.
- General examination and treatment chair for outpatient and hospital departments.
- Situations requiring rapid change to lying or resuscitation position (e.g. fainting, hypotension during treatment).
Composition
- Frame: robust steel construction with powder-coated base and support structures.
- Upholstery: anatomically contoured medical-grade foam with high-quality, durable cover material (e.g., imitation leather / Future-upholstery) available in multiple colour options.
- Electric system: safe, quiet 24 V electric motors for height, back, seat angle and leg section adjustment, compliant with EN 60601-1.
- Control system: intelligent electronic control with hand control (flexible arm or spiral cable), pre-programmed positions and one user-programmable memory position.
- Castors: design castors with central locking system, diameter approximately 75 mm, for safe movement and parking.
- Arm supports: pair of multifunction armrests with 10 cm height adjustment, -45° to +20° angle adjustment and 0–180° rotation, remaining horizontal relative to patient surface.
- Head section: mechanical head section with angle adjustment around 10° and length adjustment (approximately 10 cm).
- Leg section: motorised one-piece leg section with angle adjustment from around -80°/ -90° to 0°, length-adjustable.
- Electrical accessories: integrated USB charging outlet (approx. 4 W output).
Formulation
- Electric 3-section medical treatment chair with head, seat and leg sections.
- Height-adjustable, Trendelenburg-capable patient chair with motorised movements and mechanical head section adjustment.
- CE-marked MDR-compliant class I medical device with integrated low-voltage electric motors.
Packaging
- Supplied as a fully assembled or partially assembled treatment chair (configuration may vary by distributor).
- Standard delivery typically includes: Capre MC Medical Chair with upholstery in selected colour, integrated central-locking castors, armrests, hand control with flexible arm or spiral cable, power cable and user / technical manual.
- Optional accessories (such as IV poles, tablet stand with reading light and other add-ons) are available but may not be included in the base package and must be specified separately.
Usage
- Position the chair on a level floor and engage the central locking castors before seating a patient or making adjustments.
- Connect the chair to the mains power supply according to the manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring appropriate voltage and earthing.
- Use the hand control to adjust chair height, backrest angle, seat angle and leg section to the desired position before beginning treatment, selecting one of the pre-programmed positions (chair, beach chair, flat) or a user-defined memory position as appropriate.
- For dialysis or cytostatic treatments, adjust the arm supports for optimal venous access: set armrest height, angle and rotation so that the patient’s arm is supported and horizontal irrespective of backrest angle.
- When needed, activate the Trendelenburg or resuscitation / lying position function via the designated button to quickly reposition the patient in emergencies, ensuring that staff support and monitor the patient during movement.
- Adjust the mechanical head section length and angle to support the patient’s head and neck comfortably, particularly during prolonged treatments.
- After use, return the chair to a neutral or entry position, lower height as needed for safe egress, unlock castors if the chair must be moved and clean all contact surfaces with approved disinfectants according to infection control protocols.
- Perform routine checks on electrical functions, castors, upholstery and moving parts; report and service any faults according to Lojer’s maintenance instructions and local biomedical engineering procedures.
Contraindications
- Not suitable for use with patients whose weight exceeds the Safe Working Load (SWL) of 160 kg.
- Use with caution in patients requiring special positioning or immobilisation that the chair cannot safely provide; in such cases a suitable hospital bed or specialty chair may be required.
- Do not use the chair if any electrical, mechanical or locking faults are detected (e.g., non-functioning motors, damaged cables, faulty castor locks).
- Not intended for use in environments requiring explosion-proof equipment or in the presence of flammable anaesthetic mixtures.
Adverse Effects
- Improper positioning or inadequate securing of castors may increase the risk of patient falls or instability during transfer.
- Incorrect adjustment of seat or back angles may lead to discomfort, pressure points or exacerbation of certain musculoskeletal conditions during long treatments.
- If Trendelenburg or rapid position changes are used inappropriately, some patients may experience dizziness, hypotension or other circulatory symptoms; clinical judgement should be used when selecting positions.
Storage Conditions
- Store and operate the chair in a dry, indoor clinical environment within the temperature and humidity ranges specified in the manufacturer’s documentation.
- Keep the power cable routed safely to avoid trip hazards and mechanical damage; disconnect from mains if the chair will not be used for extended periods.
- Clean upholstery and metal surfaces regularly with approved detergents and disinfectants; avoid aggressive solvents that could damage covers or coatings.
- Ensure castors and mechanical joints remain free of debris; perform periodic maintenance and inspection according to Lojer’s recommendations.
