Description

The Coast HP7 Plus Focusing LED Torch is an upgraded, more powerful version of the HP7, designed as a compact yet high-performance handheld flashlight. Using Coast’s Pure Beam Focusing System with Slide Focus, it allows the user to switch one-handed between a super-wide flood beam and a long-range spot beam with a smooth transition halo. The HP7 Plus offers three output modes—high, medium and low—providing up to 410 lumens and a beam distance of up to 229 m, all controlled via a tail switch and quick-cycle operation. Its anti-roll tailcap prevents the light from rolling on uneven surfaces and lets the torch stand upright on its end for vertical, hands-free lighting. Powered by 4 × AAA alkaline batteries, it provides runtimes of approximately 2 hours on high, 6.5 hours on medium and 12 hours on low. The lightweight aircraft-grade aluminium body is impact and weather resistant (IP54), and the torch is tested and rated to ANSI/FL1 standards and backed by Coast’s 5-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Usage

Open the battery compartment according to the instructions and insert 4 × AAA alkaline batteries, observing correct polarity.
Replace and securely tighten the tailcap before use to maintain electrical contact and weather resistance.
Press the tail switch fully to turn the torch on or off; use half-presses (quick-cycle) to cycle between high, medium and low output modes, then fully press to select the desired mode.
To adjust the beam, slide the head of the torch forward or backward to switch between flood and spot focus while the light is on.
For temporary hands-free vertical lighting, stand the torch on its anti-roll tailcap on a stable, level surface.
Do not point the beam directly into eyes at close range; use lower modes for close-up work to reduce glare.
After use, switch the torch off. For prolonged storage, remove the batteries to minimise the risk of leakage.
Clean the exterior with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth if necessary; do not immerse the torch in water or use aggressive solvents.

Contraindications

Not intended for direct, prolonged illumination into human or animal eyes at close distance.
Not certified as intrinsically safe equipment and therefore unsuitable for use in explosive or highly flammable atmospheres where ATEX or similar certification is required.
Not a regulated medical device and should not be used as a substitute for approved clinical or surgical lighting in settings where such devices are required.

Adverse Effects

Temporary glare, visual discomfort or after-images may occur if the beam is directed into the eyes at short range.
Mild hand fatigue or discomfort may occur with prolonged gripping of the torch in high-output mode due to heat and weight.
Battery leakage from damaged or old alkaline cells can cause chemical irritation on skin or eyes and may damage the product.

Storage Conditions

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat sources.
Ensure the torch is switched off before storage and keep out of reach of young children.
For extended periods of non-use, remove the AAA batteries to reduce the risk of leakage and corrosion.
Avoid storing in locations with high humidity, corrosive vapours or where the torch may be subject to heavy impact or crushing.
Do not store the torch with depleted or mixed battery types; always use fresh, matching AAA cells.
