Handheld Torch / Flashlight

Description

The Coast HP7 Plus Focusing LED Torch is an upgraded, more powerful version of the HP7, designed as a compact yet high-performance handheld flashlight. Using Coast’s Pure Beam Focusing System with Slide Focus, it allows the user to switch one-handed between a super-wide flood beam and a long-range spot beam with a smooth transition halo. The HP7 Plus offers three output modes—high, medium and low—providing up to 410 lumens and a beam distance of up to 229 m, all controlled via a tail switch and quick-cycle operation. Its anti-roll tailcap prevents the light from rolling on uneven surfaces and lets the torch stand upright on its end for vertical, hands-free lighting. Powered by 4 × AAA alkaline batteries, it provides runtimes of approximately 2 hours on high, 6.5 hours on medium and 12 hours on low. The lightweight aircraft-grade aluminium body is impact and weather resistant (IP54), and the torch is tested and rated to ANSI/FL1 standards and backed by Coast’s 5-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Bnefits

  • High-performance LED torch delivering up to 410 lumens for powerful illumination in a compact form factor.
  • Pure Beam Focusing System with Slide Focus for quick one-handed transition between wide flood and long-range spot beam with a clean transition halo.
  • Three brightness modes (high, medium, low) with quick-cycle tail switch operation for fast selection.
  • Long beam range up to approximately 229 m on high for distance illumination.
  • Efficient runtimes: around 2 hours on high, 6.5 hours on medium and 12 hours on low using 4 × AAA batteries.
  • Anti-roll tailcap design to prevent the torch from rolling off uneven surfaces and to allow vertical ‘candle’ mode.
  • Lightweight aircraft-grade aluminium casing providing strength, durability and everyday portability.
  • IP54 weather resistance for protection against dust and splashing water in demanding environments.
  • Impact-resistant construction with a virtually unbreakable LED for reliable professional and outdoor use.
  • Backed by Coast’s 5-year warranty and independently tested to ANSI/FL1 performance standards.

Indications

  • General-purpose handheld lighting for emergency response, first aid and accident and emergency kits.
  • Task and inspection lighting in industrial, engineering, workshop and maintenance environments.
  • Use by emergency services, security personnel and field workers who require a compact but powerful torch.
  • Outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, dog walking and travel where variable beam and output are useful.
  • Everyday carry flashlight for home, vehicle and workplace use.

Composition

  • High-power white LED light source integrated with Coast Pure Beam focusing optic.
  • Aircraft-grade aluminium body and bezel with anodised finish.
  • Textured anti-roll tailcap incorporating on/off and mode-switching quick-cycle switch.
  • Internal reflector and lens assembly providing flood-to-spot focusing capability.
  • Battery carrier for 4 × AAA alkaline batteries.
  • O-ring and seal components contributing to IP54 weather resistance.

Formulation

  • Battery-powered focusing LED flashlight with Pure Beam Focusing System, Slide Focus mechanism and multi-mode electronic switching.

Packaging

  • Coast HP7 Plus Focusing LED Torch.
  • 4 × AAA alkaline batteries (typically included in retail packs).
  • Nylon belt pouch or holster (included with many distributor configurations).
  • User instructions and warranty information.

Usage

  • Open the battery compartment according to the instructions and insert 4 × AAA alkaline batteries, observing correct polarity.
  • Replace and securely tighten the tailcap before use to maintain electrical contact and weather resistance.
  • Press the tail switch fully to turn the torch on or off; use half-presses (quick-cycle) to cycle between high, medium and low output modes, then fully press to select the desired mode.
  • To adjust the beam, slide the head of the torch forward or backward to switch between flood and spot focus while the light is on.
  • For temporary hands-free vertical lighting, stand the torch on its anti-roll tailcap on a stable, level surface.
  • Do not point the beam directly into eyes at close range; use lower modes for close-up work to reduce glare.
  • After use, switch the torch off. For prolonged storage, remove the batteries to minimise the risk of leakage.
  • Clean the exterior with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth if necessary; do not immerse the torch in water or use aggressive solvents.

Contraindications

  • Not intended for direct, prolonged illumination into human or animal eyes at close distance.
  • Not certified as intrinsically safe equipment and therefore unsuitable for use in explosive or highly flammable atmospheres where ATEX or similar certification is required.
  • Not a regulated medical device and should not be used as a substitute for approved clinical or surgical lighting in settings where such devices are required.

Adverse Effects

  • Temporary glare, visual discomfort or after-images may occur if the beam is directed into the eyes at short range.
  • Mild hand fatigue or discomfort may occur with prolonged gripping of the torch in high-output mode due to heat and weight.
  • Battery leakage from damaged or old alkaline cells can cause chemical irritation on skin or eyes and may damage the product.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat sources.
  • Ensure the torch is switched off before storage and keep out of reach of young children.
  • For extended periods of non-use, remove the AAA batteries to reduce the risk of leakage and corrosion.
  • Avoid storing in locations with high humidity, corrosive vapours or where the torch may be subject to heavy impact or crushing.
  • Do not store the torch with depleted or mixed battery types; always use fresh, matching AAA cells.

Duration

Not a medical treatment device. Typical runtime per set of batteries is approximately 2 hours on high, 6 hours 30 minutes on medium and 12 hours on low, depending on battery quality and operating conditions.

Onset

Immediate illumination upon activation of the tail switch.
