Description

The Coast HP7R Rechargeable Long Distance LED Torch is a professional-grade focusing flashlight designed for law enforcement and other demanding users. It combines Coast’s Long Range Optic System with Slide Focus technology, enabling smooth one-handed transition from a tight, long-distance spot beam to a broad flood beam. Delivering up to 300 lumens with a beam distance of up to 352 m, the HP7R offers high, low and strobe modes that are quickly selected via a rear quick-cycle switch. Coast’s Flex Charge Dual Power system allows operation from either the supplied lithium-ion rechargeable battery cartridges or from a 4 × AAA alkaline battery cartridge, and the Li-ion packs can be charged in or out of the torch via micro USB. The lightweight aircraft-grade aluminium body is impact and weather resistant, with Beam Lock to secure the chosen focus setting and an end-cap switch design optimised for tactical use. Tested and rated to ANSI/FL1 standards and backed by Coast’s warranty, the HP7R is intended as an all-round duty light for tactical, rescue and professional applications.

  • Tested and rated to ANSI/FL1 standards for verified output, beam distance and runtime.
  • Backed by a multi-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Indications

  • Long-distance handheld illumination for law enforcement, security and tactical professionals.
  • Duty and inspection light for rescue services, utilities, industrial maintenance and engineering teams.
  • High-quality torch for outdoor activities such as search tasks, hiking, camping and navigation in low-light environments.
  • General-purpose professional and domestic use where a durable, focusing rechargeable flashlight is required.
  • Use in vehicle, workshop or emergency kits for reliable, long-range lighting.

Composition

  • High-power white LED light source integrated with Coast Long Range Optic System.
  • Aircraft-grade aluminium body and head with anodised finish.
  • Slide Focus focusing mechanism providing flood-to-spot beam adjustment.
  • Beam Lock feature to secure the chosen focus position.
  • Tail-cap push button switch with quick-cycle mode selection (high / strobe / low).
  • Rechargeable lithium-ion battery cartridges (typically two included in kits).
  • Alkaline battery cartridge for 4 × AAA batteries.
  • Sealing elements and internal components providing impact and weather resistance.

Formulation

  • Rechargeable and alkaline-compatible focusing LED flashlight with Long Range Optic System, Slide Focus and multi-mode electronic tail-cap switch.

Packaging

  • Coast HP7R rechargeable LED torch.
  • Rechargeable lithium-ion battery cartridges (commonly 2 × Li-ion).
  • Alkaline battery cartridge for 4 × AAA batteries (with AAA cells supplied in many kits).
  • Micro USB charging cable with AC and/or DC adapters depending on kit configuration.
  • Nylon belt pouch or heavy-duty sheath.
  • Lanyard or wrist strap.
  • Belt or speed clip and wall mount / bracket (in full kit configurations).
  • Printed instruction manual and warranty information.

Usage

  • Before first use, insert either a charged lithium-ion battery cartridge or the alkaline battery cartridge loaded with 4 × AAA cells, following the polarity markings.
  • Screw the tail cap on securely to ensure good electrical contact and maintain weather resistance.
  • Press the tail switch fully to turn the torch on or off; use partial presses (quick-cycle) to scroll through high, strobe and low modes, then fully press to select the desired mode.
  • While the light is on, slide the head of the torch forwards or backwards to adjust the beam from a wide flood to a long-range spot.
  • Use the Beam Lock feature (twisting the head as directed in the manual) to lock the chosen focus when required.
  • To recharge a lithium-ion cartridge, connect the micro USB charging lead to the charging port on the battery or tail cap (depending on version) and to a suitable USB power source; charge the cartridge either in the torch or removed from it, as specified by the manufacturer.
  • Disconnect the charger once charging is complete and refit the battery to the torch if it was removed.
  • Avoid shining the beam directly into eyes at close range, especially in high mode or strobe mode.
  • After use in wet or dirty environments, wipe the body and lens with a soft cloth and allow to dry before storage; do not immerse the torch in water.
  • For extended periods of non-use, remove alkaline batteries from the cartridge to minimise the risk of leakage.

Contraindications

  • Not intended for direct, prolonged illumination into human or animal eyes at close distance.
  • Not certified as intrinsically safe equipment and therefore unsuitable for use in explosive or highly flammable atmospheres requiring ATEX or equivalent certification.
  • Not a regulated medical device and must not be used as a replacement for approved medical examination or surgical lighting where such equipment is required.

Adverse Effects

  • Temporary glare, discomfort or after-images may occur if the beam is directed into the eyes at short range or in strobe mode.
  • Mild hand fatigue or warmth may be experienced during prolonged operation on high output due to heat build-up in the torch body.
  • Leakage from damaged or aged alkaline batteries can cause skin or eye irritation and may damage the device if not addressed promptly.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and high humidity.
  • Ensure the torch is switched off before storage and keep out of reach of young children.
  • For long-term storage, remove alkaline batteries from the cartridge to minimise the risk of leakage and corrosion.
  • Store lithium-ion battery cartridges within the temperature range recommended by the manufacturer and avoid exposure to open flames, strong solvents or corrosive chemicals.
  • Avoid dropping heavy objects on the torch or subjecting it to crushing forces while in storage.

Duration

Not a medical treatment device. Typical runtime using a lithium-ion cartridge is approximately 7 hours on high and 33 hours on low; runtimes with alkaline batteries are shorter and depend on cell quality and conditions.

Onset

Immediate illumination upon activation of the tail switch.
