Usage

  • Position the beam seating on a flat, stable floor surface before use.

  • Inspect the frame, welds, fixings and upholstery regularly for any signs of damage, loosening or instability before use.
  • Use the product only for seated patients and visitors; do not stand on the beam, seats or frame, and do not use the seating as a step, platform or lifting aid.
  • Follow local infection-control guidance for cleaning: wipe the vinyl upholstery and frame with appropriate, non-abrasive detergents or disinfectants compatible with antimicrobial vinyl.
  • Avoid harsh solvents, bleach-based products in high concentrations or abrasive pads that may damage the vinyl or coating on the frame.
  • If any component is damaged (for example, torn upholstery, bent frame or loose fixings), remove the unit from service and consult the supplier or manufacturer for repair or replacement.

Contraindications

  • Not designed for use as a step, ladder or physical transfer aid.
  • Not suitable for users whose weight exceeds the safe working load specified by the manufacturer; contact Plinth Medical or the distributor for current load ratings.
  • Use with caution for patients who require specialised posture or pressure-relief seating that this standard beam system does not provide.
  • Do not use the seating if the frame, fixings, legs, feet or upholstery are visibly damaged, loose or unstable.

Adverse Effects

  • Use of unsuitable or aggressive cleaning agents may prematurely degrade the antimicrobial vinyl upholstery surface.
