Mobile LED examination lamp on 5-foot stand

Description

The LUXAMED LED Examination Lamp FOCUS on 5-feet-stand (white, powder-coated) is a modern, focusable examination and minor surgery lamp featuring energy-saving high-power LED technology. Equipped with a 10 W LED and a focusable optical system, it delivers up to approximately 80,000 lux at 30 cm with an adjustable light spot diameter from about 9 cm to 15 cm. The lamp head is made from aluminium for optimal convection and heat radiation, resulting in very low heat at the patient. A 100 cm gooseneck allows precise positioning, maintaining the selected position without drifting, and the robust, non-tilting 5-foot metal stand provides stable, mobile support with a maximum examination height of 165 cm. Colour temperature is around 5000 K with a high colour rendering index (CRI 93), ensuring bright, neutral light and excellent tissue colour differentiation for clinical examinations.

Bnefits

  • High-intensity illumination of approximately 80,000 lux at 30 cm with a focused 9 cm light spot, ensuring excellent visibility for examination and minor procedures.
  • Focusable light spot that can be adjusted from about 9 cm to 15 cm at 30 cm working distance, allowing clinicians to adapt the beam to different working fields.
  • Energy-efficient 10 W high-power LED with an approximate service life of 50,000 hours, reducing bulb replacement and maintenance costs.
  • Neutral white light with a colour temperature of around 5000 K and a high CRI of 93 for accurate tissue colour rendering.
  • Aluminium illumination head optimised for convection and heat radiation, resulting in low heat development and improved patient and user comfort even at short working distances.
  • 100 cm gooseneck construction that maintains the desired position, offering flexible yet stable positioning of the light beam.
  • Robust, non-tilting 5-foot metal stand (powder-coated) providing stable, mobile support suitable for clinic rooms and procedure areas.
  • Maximum examination height of approximately 165 cm, giving adequate reach for examinations on couches, treatment chairs or standing patients.
  • Supplied with a multifunction mains plug (EU/UK/US) for compatibility with different regional socket standards.
  • Designed for routine examinations and minor surgical procedures, making it a versatile light source for GP surgeries, outpatient clinics, dermatology, gynaecology and aesthetic practices.

Indications

  • General clinical and practice examinations requiring focused, high-quality lighting of the examination field.
  • Minor surgical and procedural work in outpatient and clinic settings (e.g., suturing, minor dermatological procedures, wound management).
  • Aesthetic and dermatology treatments where clear, colour-accurate visualisation of skin and soft tissues is required.
  • Use in GP surgeries, treatment rooms, outpatient clinics, hospital examination rooms and other clinical environments requiring a mobile examination lamp.

Composition

  • Illumination head made from aluminium to promote effective heat convection and radiation.
  • High-power LED light source, 10 W, integrated into the lamp head.
  • Gooseneck arm (approximately 100 cm) with internal flexible metal and protective outer sheath to maintain position.
  • Powder-coated metal 5-foot stand providing a robust, non-tilting mobile base.
  • Electrical components including LED driver and wiring housed within the lamp assembly and stand.
  • Multifunction mains plug system (EU/UK/US) with compatible power cord for regional power outlets.

Packaging

  • Lamp supplied as a complete unit including LED examination head, gooseneck arm and 5-foot mobile stand in white, powder-coated finish.
  • Packaged with a multifunction mains plug system (EU/UK/US) and power cord.
  • Manufacturer catalogue number U1.211.014 (white version with 5-foot stand).
  • Delivered in protective packaging suitable for transport, with assembly and operating instructions included.
  • Optional handle (e.g., U5.121.114) may be available separately depending on configuration and supplier.

Usage

  • Unpack the lamp and check all components (lamp head, gooseneck arm, stand base, power cord) for transport damage before assembly.
  • Assemble the stand and attach the lamp column and head according to the manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring all screws and fasteners are tightened securely.
  • Connect the mains plug to a suitable power outlet (EU/UK/US as applicable) and ensure cable routing does not create a trip hazard.
  • Adjust the height of the lamp and the gooseneck position so that the light head is at the desired examination height (up to approximately 165 cm) and angle.
  • Switch the lamp on using the designated on/off control and allow the LED to reach full brightness (essentially immediate).
  • Set the focus of the lamp to obtain the required light spot diameter (approx. 9–15 cm at 30 cm working distance), ensuring the illuminated area is homogeneous and free from distracting shadows.
  • Position the lamp so that the light falls onto the working field without shining directly into the patient’s or user’s eyes.
  • After use, switch the lamp off and, if necessary, reposition the stand to a safe storage location or leave it ready for the next examination.
  • Clean the exterior surfaces of the lamp head, gooseneck and stand regularly with a soft cloth and approved disinfectant in accordance with the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions; do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse electrical parts in liquid.
  • Periodically check the lamp, gooseneck and stand for signs of wear, loose fittings or damage; remove from service and have it inspected or repaired by authorised service personnel if any defects are identified.

Contraindications

  • Do not use in environments where flammable anaesthetic mixtures or explosive gases may be present, unless the lamp is specifically certified for such use.
  • Not intended for use as the sole light source for major surgery requiring operating-theatre-grade lighting.
  • Do not use if the device, power cord or plug appears damaged, or if the lamp exhibits unusual flickering, noise or excessive heat.
  • Avoid positioning the lamp so that intense light shines directly into the eyes of patients or staff for prolonged periods.

Adverse Effects

  • Potential temporary visual discomfort or glare for patients or clinicians if the lamp is directed into the eyes.
  • If not positioned correctly, the stand and cable may pose a trip hazard in crowded treatment rooms.
  • Excessive or inappropriate cleaning with aggressive chemicals may damage coatings or plastics and could create sharp edges if neglected over time (an equipment maintenance issue rather than a direct patient adverse effect).

Storage Conditions

  • Store and operate the lamp in dry indoor clinical environments within the temperature and humidity ranges specified by the manufacturer.
  • Avoid exposure to excessive moisture, direct water jets or condensation on electrical components.
  • Do not store the lamp in areas with corrosive fumes, heavy dust or extreme temperatures that could damage electrical and mechanical parts.
  • Ensure the power cable is not pinched under furniture or tightly bent during storage.
  • When not in use for extended periods, switch off and disconnect from the mains power supply.

Duration

Not applicable \u2013 this is a medical examination lighting device used only for the duration of an examination or minor procedure.
