LED examination light \u2013 wall-mounted model
Description
The Riester ri-magic LED High Performance Examination Light - Wall is a flexible, wall-mounted medical examination lamp designed to illuminate examination and minor procedure areas with bright, focusable, daylight-like LED light. Using modern LED technology delivering approximately 228 lumen, it provides clearly distinguishable colour nuances, stark contrasts and high-performance illumination to support more efficient diagnosis. The LED generates cold light with significantly less heat and energy loss compared to halogen or xenon bulbs and has a service life of up to 50,000 hours, eliminating the need for frequent lamp replacement. A focusing ring at the front of the light head allows precise adjustment of the examination field size, while the highly flexible, long arm can be bent in any direction and remains stable in the chosen position. Light intensity is continuously adjustable via an integrated handle with rheostat. The unit is supplied as a wall model and can be quickly mounted on standard wall rails using a universal clamp, making it suitable for clinics, hospitals, outpatient practices and treatment rooms.
Bnefits
- High-performance white LED illumination (approx. 228 lumen) similar to daylight, ideal for examinations and smaller procedures.
- Focusable light field with a front focusing device to precisely adjust the size of the illuminated area.
- Long LED lifetime up to about 50,000 hours, largely eliminating the need for bulb replacement and reducing maintenance costs.
- Cold light output with significantly less heat and energy loss compared to halogen and xenon lamps, improving comfort for patient and clinician.
- Highly flexible special arm that can be bent in all directions while maintaining the chosen position, enabling precise positioning.
- Simple handle with rheostat for infinitely variable light intensity regulation to match clinical needs.
- Wall model compatible with standard hospital/clinic wall rails via a universal clamp for quick and easy mounting.
- Metal-free light head with modern design to support safe, ergonomic use in clinical environments.
- Energy-efficient LED technology, contributing to lower running costs and environmental impact.
Indications
- General medical examinations requiring focused, high-quality illumination.
- Minor surgical and diagnostic procedures in outpatient clinics, hospitals and treatment rooms.
- Use in general practice, internal medicine, ENT, dermatology, gynaecology and similar specialties where focused examination lighting is necessary.
- Illumination of small operative fields or specific anatomical regions for inspection or minor interventions.
- Supplemental lighting in procedure rooms where ceiling or ambient lighting is insufficient.
Composition
- LED light source (high-performance white LED, approx. 228 lumen output).
- Light head with integrated focusing mechanism and handle/rheostat for brightness control.
- Flexible, long special arm capable of multi-directional bending and stable positioning.
- Wall-mounting system with universal clamp compatible with conventional wall rails.
- External power supply via wide-range power cord for 230V/120V mains (regional plug variants).
- Housing and arm constructed from durable, easy-to-clean materials suitable for clinical use (exact material composition not publicly specified).
Formulation
- Medical examination lamp using modern LED technology for high-intensity, daylight-like illumination.
- Nominal light output approximately 228 lumen, providing bright, focused light with low heat emission.
- LED lifetime up to around 50,000 hours under normal operating conditions.
- Continuously adjustable light intensity via integrated rheostat in the handle.
- Focusable beam allowing variable examination field size.
- Designed as a wall-mounted, flexible-arm light with wide-range power supply (230V/120V).
Packaging
- Supplied as a complete wall-mounted examination light unit (ri-magic LED head, flexible arm and wall mounting hardware/rail clamp – exact contents may vary by region).
- Packed with power cord suitable for the specified voltage (230V/120V; plug type may vary by market).
- Delivered in protective outer carton with internal packaging to secure the light head and arm.
- Labelling typically includes product name, model (wall version), SKU (6240.001 or regional equivalent), manufacturer details, voltage information, serial/lot number and relevant conformity marks.
Usage
- Have installation carried out by appropriately trained personnel in accordance with local electrical and safety regulations.
- Mount the wall model using the supplied universal clamp or wall-mount bracket on a suitable wall rail or surface capable of supporting the lamp’s weight and movement.
- Ensure that the power cord is connected to an appropriate 230V/120V mains outlet as specified on the rating plate, using any required country-specific plug or adapter.
- Switch on the lamp and use the handle with integrated rheostat to adjust light intensity continuously to the desired level.
- Use the focusing device at the front of the light head to adjust the size of the illuminated examination field according to the clinical situation.
- Position the flexible arm by gently bending it into the required orientation; release when the light is correctly aimed, allowing the arm to hold its set position.
- Avoid pointing the light directly into the patient’s eyes for longer than necessary to prevent discomfort.
- After use, switch off the lamp when no longer needed to conserve energy and extend device life.
- Clean the light head, arm and controls regularly with suitable disinfectants compatible with the device materials, following Riester’s cleaning and disinfection recommendations.
- Do not modify the device or attempt internal repairs; servicing or repairs should only be performed by authorised service personnel or as directed by the manufacturer.
Contraindications
- Not intended for use in areas with explosive atmospheres or in the presence of flammable anaesthetic mixtures (unless explicitly specified by the manufacturer).
- Should not be used if the device, power cord or plug appears damaged, or if the light head or arm cannot be safely positioned or fixed.
- Use with caution in patients with extreme light sensitivity, avoiding prolonged direct exposure to the eyes.
Adverse Effects
- Potential temporary visual discomfort or glare if the light is directed into the eyes at high intensity.
- Local heating is minimal but prolonged close-range illumination on very sensitive tissue may cause slight warmth or dryness.
- Improper installation or cable routing may pose a trip or electrical hazard if not managed according to safety guidelines.
Storage Conditions
- Store in a dry, clean indoor environment when not installed or in use.
- Avoid exposure to excessive humidity, dust, corrosive atmospheres or direct water jets.
- Protect from strong mechanical shocks or impacts that could damage the light head, arm or mounting system.
- If the lamp is temporarily not in service, disconnect from mains power and secure the arm and cable to prevent accidental damage.
- Observe any temperature and humidity limits specified in the product documentation for transport and storage.
Duration
Intended for continuous or intermittent use during examinations and minor procedures as required; the lamp can operate for extended periods within its specified electrical and thermal limits, but should be switched off when not in use.
Onset
Immediate full illumination upon switching on the LED and setting the desired intensity and focus.
