Oral nutricosmetic solar / tanning and cellular protection supplement (capsules)

Description

NHCO UV.SKIN 56 capsules is a solar food supplement from Laboratoire NHCO Nutrition, designed to support cellular protection and promote a naturally tanned complexion. Based on Aminoscience, its exclusive formula brings together 27 active ingredients organised into several complexes (PromelanTX, Oxyprotect-140, DNA-lactoB9 and Nucleo-PS) containing L-tyrosine (a melanin precursor), three plant pigments (beta-carotene, lycopene, lutein), nucleotides, collagen, borage oil, green tea, grape seed and milk thistle extracts, golden polypody and antioxidant vitamins and minerals (vitamins E, B3, B5, B6, B9, D and selenium) to help protect skin cells from oxidative stress caused by UV rays, support immune function and favour a natural tan for all skin types.

 • Generally well tolerated when taken at recommended doses in healthy adults.
 • Possible mild gastrointestinal disturbances (e.g. nausea, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, bloating) in sensitive individuals, as with many multi-ingredient supplements.
 • Occasional nervousness, palpitations, insomnia or jitteriness may occur in sensitive individuals due to the presence of green tea (caffeine and EGCG), particularly if taken in excess or in combination with other caffeinated products.
 • Rare allergic reactions (e.g. rash, itching, facial swelling, respiratory discomfort, digestive upset) can occur in people sensitive to any component (fish collagen, milk proteins, plant extracts, vitamins, minerals).
 • Very high intakes of carotenoids such as beta-carotene may cause benign, reversible yellow-orange discolouration of the skin in susceptible individuals, especially at elevated doses.
 • If persistent or severe adverse symptoms occur, users should stop taking the product and seek medical advice.

 • Consume preferably before the best-before date indicated on the box or under the carton.
 • Do not use if the packaging is damaged or shows signs of tampering.
 • Keep out of the reach and sight of young children.

Duration

One box (56 capsules) provides between 4 and 8 weeks of supplementation depending on the individual’s phototype and dosing schedule (2 capsules/day throughout for phototypes I–II; 2 capsules/day then 1 capsule/day for phototypes III–V). The programme can be renewed for up to 3 consecutive months, after which a break of at least 1 month is recommended before any further cycle.

Onset

For optimal results, supplementation is typically started about 2 weeks before sun exposure, with gradual effects on tanning capacity, skin comfort and antioxidant protection observed over the course of several weeks. A more visible naturally tanned complexion and perceived improvement in resistance to sun-induced redness or dryness are generally noted after 2–4 weeks of regular use, provided that phototype-specific dosing and adequate sun protection are respected; individual responses may vary.
