The gel is transparent, odourless (non-UV version), and can be used on adults and children.

Usage
- Ensure the affected area is clean and dry before application.
- Apply a very thin layer of KELO-COTE onto the scar twice daily (morning and evening).
- Do not rub the gel in; allow it to self-dry for approximately 4–5 minutes.
- If the gel has not dried within about 5 minutes, too much product has been applied. Gently remove the excess and allow the remaining thin layer to dry.
- Once dry, the gel forms a flexible, transparent, waterproof film that should remain in continuous contact with the skin for 24 hours.
- Sunblock and cosmetics may be applied over the dried film if desired.
- Recommended minimum treatment duration is 60–90 days. Larger or older scars may require longer treatment; if improvement is still observed after 90 days, continued use is recommended.
- Begin use as soon as the wound is fully closed or sutures have been removed; do not apply to open wounds.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the ingredients (silicones or excipients).
- Do not apply to open wounds, mucous membranes or third-degree burns.
- Do not use on dermatological conditions that compromise the integrity of the skin.
- Avoid direct contact with eyes.
- If persistent irritation or adverse reaction occurs, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
Adverse Effects
- Generally well tolerated; occasional local irritation, redness or discomfort may occur in sensitive individuals.
- Product may stain clothing if it is not completely dry before contact with fabrics.
- As with all topical products, there is a small risk of local allergic or hypersensitivity reaction.
Storage Conditions
- Store below 25°C.
- Keep away from heat sources and open flames; do not smoke during application or while the gel is drying.
- Keep tube tightly closed when not in use.
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
- Shelf life for unopened packaging is typically 48 months (according to some market summaries).
Duration
Minimum recommended treatment time 60\u201390 days with twice-daily application; older or larger scars may require longer, and use may be continued as long as improvement is observed (typically on scars up to 4 years old).
Onset
Visible improvement generally develops progressively over the treatment period with consistent twice-daily application; clinical sources describe noticeable softening, flattening and reduction in redness over several weeks to months of continuous use.
