Profhilo is an injectable skin treatment made from highly purified hyaluronic acid (HA). Its not a traditional filler that adds volume. Instead its designed to hydrate, stimulate collagen and elastin production, and remodel skin quality from within. HA attracts and holds water which plumps and hydrates tissue while triggering fibroblasts to make new collagen and elastin. This gives a gradual improvement in skin firmness, elasticity, and texture.

Medical Infrastructure:
- Local GP provision
- Nearest district general hospital services in Perth
- NHS Tayside regional governance

Local Aethetics Market:
Very early-stage rural aesthetic presence
Profhilo itself has regulatory approvals (MHRA and FDA reported in some sources) confirming it's safety profile as an injectable HA treatment. However specific NICE procedural guidance may be limited, and UK practice of cosmetic injectables lacks strict regulation on who can provide treatments, so clinician judgement and adherence to best practices matter.

- Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) for independent medical services
- General Medical Council (GMC) oversight for doctors
Private insurance usage locally:
- Minimal for cosmetic consultations
- Primarily self-funded
Cosmetic finance availability:
Unlikely in single rural consultation model
