Description

Heliocare Ultra Oral Capsules are oral photoprotective food supplements containing a high content of Fernblock (Polypodium leucotomos extract) together with antioxidant vitamins C and E, lutein and lycopene. They are designed to increase the skin’s resistance to sun damage from the first dose, help neutralise and repair UV-induced damage, and provide homogeneous protection to areas that are difficult to cover with topical sunscreens such as the scalp, eyes and ears. The product is gluten-free and presented as a jar of 30 capsules for use alongside a topical broad-spectrum sunscreen.

Usage

Adults: take 1 capsule daily before sun exposure, swallowed with a large glass of water.
In periods of intense or prolonged sun exposure, a second capsule may be taken 4–6 hours after the first dose.
Use in combination with a high-factor, broad-spectrum topical sunscreen; do not use capsules as a substitute for topical sun protection.
Recommended for individuals from 18 years of age; use in younger patients only on medical advice.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Take regularly during periods of high UV exposure for continuous protection.

Contraindications

Known hypersensitivity or allergy to Polypodium leucotomos, vitamins C, E, or any of the capsule ingredients (including gelatine or colourants).
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically recommended by a healthcare professional.
Use in children only under medical supervision (generally not recommended in very young children).
Individuals with underlying medical conditions or on photosensitising or immunosuppressive medications should seek medical advice before use.

Adverse Effects

No specific serious adverse effects are commonly reported when used at recommended doses.
As with other oral supplements, mild gastrointestinal discomfort (e.g., nausea, stomach upset) may occur in susceptible individuals.
Rarely, allergic or hypersensitivity reactions to any component of the formulation may occur.
If any unexpected or severe adverse reaction occurs, discontinue use and seek medical advice.
