Enteral medication straw (ENFit)

Description

100 mm ENFit medication/medicine straw supplied as a pack of 100. The straw attaches to an ENFit (ISO 80369-3) enteral syringe to facilitate accurate, aseptic withdrawal and administration of enteral feeds or medicines. Available sterile or non-sterile depending on manufacturer; commonly used in hospitals, clinics and homecare to improve dose accuracy and reduce waste when drawing medicines into ENFit enteral syringes.

Usage

Attach the male ENFit straw to a compatible ENFit enteral syringe.
Insert the straw into medication bottle or container; withdraw required volume into the ENFit syringe following local clinical procedures.
For sterile single-use products: open sterile packaging immediately before use; do not reuse.
Discard after single use into appropriate clinical waste if contaminated as per facility policy.

Contraindications

Not applicable as a medication; do not use with non-ENFit connectors or where incompatible with the patient's access devices.
Do not reuse single-use sterile straws.

Adverse Effects
