Description
S-Monovette® Serum Gel CAT 7.5 ml is a sterile venous blood collection tube (92 x 15 mm) containing a clotting activator and a separating gel. The tube uses a membrane screw cap (brown/EU-ISO colour coding) and is supplied with a paper label. It is intended for serum collection and subsequent centrifugation for clinical chemistry testing. Sterilised by electron irradiation and supplied batched in packs of 50.

Usage
Collect venous blood into the tube using appropriate S-Monovette collection technique or compatible systems
Allow blood to clot (typical clotting time ~20–30 minutes with clot activator), then centrifuge at recommended conditions (2500 x g, 20°C for 10 minutes) to obtain separated serum
Follow local laboratory procedures and the Sarstedt Instructions for Use (IFU) for handling, storage, transport and disposal
Contraindications
Not to be used if sterility of package is compromised or packaging is damaged
Not intended for collection of samples requiring anticoagulated whole blood (use appropriate anticoagulant tube instead)
Adverse Effects
Device-related risks are typical of venepuncture and include haemolysis if improper technique is used; follow standard venepuncture and sample handling precautions
Not reported as causing adverse systemic effects — adverse events are associated with blood collection procedure rather than the tube itself
