Tourniquet holster / MOLLE pouch
Description
The Elite Tourniquet Holder (model EB09.043) is a compact, rugged holster from Elite Bags designed to securely carry virtually any commercial tourniquet on the market, as well as other small operational accessories such as a flashlight, knife, bandages, sanitary materials or wedges. Elasticated lateral panels and an adjustable-height Velcro flap allow the pouch to adapt to different tourniquet sizes while maintaining a snug, secure fit. A Hypalon pull tab (“shooter”) enables rapid opening, even when wearing gloves. On the rear, MOLLE-compatible webbing and a vertical belt loop provide multiple mounting options on intervention belts, tactical vests, backpacks and other MOLLE platforms, making it suitable for prehospital, tactical, EMS and rescue environments.
Bnefits
- Universal fit design accommodates most commercially available tourniquets thanks to elastic side panels and an adjustable Velcro flap
- Versatile pouch also suitable for small operational accessories such as torches, knives, bandages, sanitary materials and wedges
- Integrated MOLLE webbing on the back enables secure attachment to compatible vests, packs and bags used by EMS, rescue and tactical teams
- Vertical belt loop allows simple mounting on intervention belts and duty belts without MOLLE
- Adjustable-height closure flap adapts to different tourniquet lengths and accessory sizes
- Elastic lateral straps provide additional expansion and retention to keep contents secure
- Hypalon pull tab (“shooter”) gives a large, grippy surface for fast opening, even with gloved or wet hands
- Velcro fastening offers quick access while maintaining reliable closure during movement
- Compact, lightweight construction optimises carriage without adding bulk to the kit
- Adaptable across multiple operational contexts, from prehospital care and EMS to military, law enforcement and outdoor rescue applications
Indications
- Carrying and protecting a wide range of commercial limb tourniquets in prehospital, EMS, rescue, tactical and training settings
- Providing quick-access storage for tourniquets on belts, vests, bags and MOLLE-compatible platforms
- Holding small mission-critical accessories such as flashlights, rescue knives, bandages, razors, sanitary materials or wedges alongside or instead of a tourniquet
- Use by emergency medical services, first responders, military, law enforcement, fire and rescue personnel and trained lay responders who require a dedicated tourniquet holster
Composition
- Main body: High-strength synthetic textile (e.g. polyester or nylon) designed for abrasion resistance and durability
- Side panels: Elastic webbing/tapes on the lateral sides to provide expansion and snug retention of different tourniquet sizes
- Closure flap: Adjustable-height textile flap with hook-and-loop (Velcro) fastening to secure the contents
- Pull tab: Hypalon or similar high-grip synthetic rubber tab to facilitate opening with or without gloves
- Rear attachment: MOLLE-compatible webbing straps for mounting on PALS/MOLLE platforms
- Vertical belt loop: Rear vertical strap/loop for mounting on standard duty or intervention belts
- Stitching: Heavy-duty thread and bar-tack reinforcement at stress points to increase service life
Formulation
- Product type: Soft tactical/EMS accessory pouch (tourniquet holster), not a medicinal product or implantable device
- Compatibility: Adjustable to fit most standard limb tourniquets currently on the market
- Attachment system: Integrated MOLLE-compatible webbing and vertical belt loop
- Closure system: Hook-and-loop (Velcro) flap with Hypalon pull tab

Packaging
- One Elite Tourniquet Holder (EB09.043) in selected colour (typically red or tactical colour, depending on distributor)
- Manufacturer/product label identifying Elite Bags, model number and basic usage information
- Supplied in a polybag or small carton, depending on distributor’s packaging practice
Usage
- Insert the tourniquet (or chosen accessory) into the main compartment of the holder, ensuring it sits fully within the elasticated sides.
- Adjust the position of the tourniquet so that critical components (such as windlass or buckle) are accessible when the flap is opened.
- Pull the adjustable Velcro flap over the tourniquet and secure it firmly so the contents are snug but not overly compressed.
- To mount on MOLLE equipment, weave the rear MOLLE straps through the PALS webbing of your vest, pack or panel and secure according to standard MOLLE attachment practice.
- For belt use, pass the intervention or duty belt through the vertical rear loop and position the holder at the desired location before fastening the belt.
- Use the Hypalon pull tab to open the flap quickly when access to the tourniquet or accessory is required; ensure that extraction can be performed with gloved hands during training.
- Periodically check that the Velcro closure, elastic sides and attachment straps remain secure and that the holder has not loosened during use.
- Train with the holder in its intended mounting position to familiarise yourself with access and extraction of the tourniquet under stress.
- Clean according to the care recommendations for synthetic tactical textiles (typically wiping with a damp cloth and mild soap, and allowing to air dry).
- Inspect regularly for signs of wear (frayed stitching, weakened elastic, damaged Velcro or Hypalon); replace the holder if structural integrity is compromised.
Contraindications
- Not a substitute for proper medical training in tourniquet application; users should be appropriately trained before carrying and deploying tourniquets.
- Not intended to be used as a tourniquet itself or to directly occlude blood flow.
- Should not be overloaded with tools or accessories beyond its capacity, as this may compromise retention or damage the holder.
- Use with non-compatible mounting systems (improper MOLLE weaving or insecure belt mounting) may result in loss of the pouch or its contents.
- Not designed for storage of sharps without appropriate secondary containment that meets sharps safety regulations.
Adverse Effects
- Potential loss or dislodgement of the tourniquet or accessories if the holder is incorrectly mounted or closed, which could delay access in an emergency.
- Wear or damage to clothing or gear if the pouch is overfilled or mounted inappropriately so that it catches on objects.
- Minor hand abrasions or pinching possible if users pull the flap aggressively without proper grip, especially when wearing bulky gloves.
- If not regularly inspected, degraded elastic or worn Velcro could reduce retention and reliability over time.
Storage Conditions
- Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated environment when not in operational use.
- Keep away from direct, prolonged sunlight when stored, as UV exposure may gradually weaken textiles and elastic components.
- Avoid contact with oils, solvents, strong acids or alkalis that could degrade synthetic fabrics, elastic and Velcro.
- Allow the holder to air dry completely if it becomes wet before long-term storage to prevent mildew and odour.
- Do not store heavily compressed for extended periods to minimise long-term degradation of elastic components.
Duration
Not applicable; this is a non-clinical accessory used to carry tourniquets and other small tools. It is intended for ongoing, repeated use as part of emergency or tactical equipment until wear or damage requires replacement.
Onset
Not applicable in a clinical sense; organisational and accessibility benefits are immediate once the holder is correctly loaded and mounted on the user\u2019s gear.
