Soft TCA bio-revitalising peel
Description
Peppermint Peel Mild (PMP Mild) is a non-toxic, soft TCA chemical peel manufactured by Love Cosmedical and supplied in 5 x 5 ml vials. It is designed for professional use on the face, neck, chest, hands and body to treat chrono-aged and photo-aged skin. PMP Mild combines an 11% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) complex with a pool of other acids, moisturisers, peptides and menthol to gently exfoliate, stimulate cell regeneration and provide immediate bio-revitalisation with minimal discomfort, no significant downtime and a strong safety profile when used correctly.
Bnefits
- Soft, superficial TCA-based peel (11% TCA) designed to rejuvenate the skin with minimal irritation.
- Targets chrono-aged and photo-aged skin by removing ageing cells and stimulating new cell growth.
- Bio-revitalising: non-peeling actives (moisturisers, peptides and aesthetic improvers) provide immediate hydration, radiance and skin-quality improvement.
- Helps treat wrinkles, acne, post-acne marks, enlarged pores, superficial scars and dyschromia/pigmentation.
- Menthol as an active ingredient masks unpleasant chemical odours and provides a cooling, soothing sensation, reducing the burning feel associated with traditional peels.
- No or minimal downtime: patients can usually resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
- Reported benefits include improved texture, refined pores, more even tone, and a fresher, brighter complexion.
- Designed to minimise fibrosis and adverse events, with relatively few contraindications when used by trained professionals.
Indications
- Cutaneous revitalisation of the face, neck, décolleté, hands and body.
- Treatment of chrono-aged and photo-aged skin (fine lines, loss of radiance, early signs of ageing).
- Adjunctive treatment for superficial hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.
- Mild to moderate acne and post-acne imperfections, including residual marks and superficial scars.
- Oily, impure and finely imperfect skin with enlarged pores or textural irregularities.
- Supportive treatment to improve the appearance of stretch marks and general skin quality, as determined by the treating professional.
Composition
- Acid pool (5 active acids, including approximately 11% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) in the Mild formulation, plus glycolic, lactic, malic and salicylic acids or equivalent alpha/beta hydroxy acids).
- Moisturising and lenitive components such as panthenol, betaine, pyroglutamic acid and other natural moisturising factor (NMF)-related molecules (urea, peptides and hydrophilic amino acids).
- Peptide aesthetic improver: palmitoyl hexapeptide-19 (or similar bioactive peptide) to support bio-revitalisation and anti-ageing effects.
- Menthol (peppermint-derived) as an active ingredient to provide cooling, mild analgesic and soothing sensations and to neutralise chemical odour.
- Aqueous solution with stabilisers and excipients appropriate for medical/cosmetic peel formulations (exact excipient list may vary by batch and regulatory market).
Formulation
- Non-toxic soft chemical peel solution containing 11% TCA in the Mild version.
- Superficial peel with combined exfoliating, moisturising and bio-revitalising actions.
- Sterile or aseptically filled single-use 5 ml vials intended for professional topical application on intact skin.
- Two strengths available in the range: Peppermint Peel Mild (11% TCA) and Peppermint Peel Intense (19% TCA); this product corresponds to the Mild formulation.
Packaging
- Box containing 5 vials of 5 ml each (total 25 ml) of Peppermint Peel Mild solution.
- Inner packaging (vials) clearly labelled with product name, strength (Mild), volume, batch/lot number and expiry date.
- Outer carton branded as Peppermint Peel / Love Cosmedical with usage indications for professional use only.
- Distributed in temperature-stable packaging to protect from light and heat during transport and storage.
Usage
- For professional use only; application must be performed by trained medical or aesthetic practitioners familiar with chemical peel procedures.
- Cleanse and degrease the treatment area according to clinic protocol; protect sensitive areas (eyes, nostrils, lips, mucosa) with appropriate barriers.
- Apply a suitable quantity of Peppermint Peel Mild with a brush or applicator over the target area (face, neck, chest, hands or body), following manufacturer or distributor guidelines on layering, contact time and coverage.
- Monitor patient comfort and skin response throughout the procedure; menthol provides a cooling effect that helps limit burning sensations, but slight transient tingling or warmth may still occur.
- After the recommended exposure time, neutralise or remove the peel if instructed by the protocol (some soft TCA systems are self-limiting; follow product-specific guidance), then apply post-peel soothing or hydrating products and broad-spectrum sun protection.
- Advise patients to avoid sun exposure and use high-SPF sunscreen for several days post-treatment, and to follow any additional aftercare instructions (gentle cleansing, avoidance of exfoliants or irritant actives).
- Treatments are commonly carried out as a course of repeated sessions spaced by several days to weeks (for example, every 1–3 weeks), tailored to the patient’s skin condition and practitioner recommendations.
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity or allergy to any component of the peel (acids, menthol, peptides or excipients).
- Active skin infection, dermatitis, eczema, rosacea flare, open wounds or severe inflammation in the planned treatment area.
- Recent use of systemic isotretinoin (within a time interval specified by clinical guidelines, often 6–12 months) unless cleared by a qualified prescriber.
- History of abnormal scarring (keloids or hypertrophic scars) or very impaired wound healing in the treatment area.
- Very recent sunburn, intense UV exposure, or use of artificial tanning in the treatment area.
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless the practitioner determines that treatment is appropriate in line with local guidelines (many clinics avoid elective peels during this period).
- Autoimmune or systemic conditions that may compromise skin healing, or concurrent use of photosensitising medications, without medical clearance.
- Any additional contraindications specified in the official Love Cosmedical / Peppermint Peel product literature or local protocols.
Adverse Effects
- Expected, transient effects may include temporary erythema (redness), mild burning or tingling during and shortly after application, and slight dryness or flaking in the days following treatment.
- Less common reactions can include more pronounced desquamation, oedema (swelling), or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, particularly on darker phototypes or after sun exposure.
- Rare but possible adverse events include persistent erythema, superficial erosions, infection or scarring if protocols are not followed or if the patient picks or traumatises the treated area.
- Menthol-related sensations (cooling and mild anaesthetic effect) are usually well tolerated but may cause discomfort in individuals sensitive to menthol.
- Any unexpected or severe reactions should prompt discontinuation, appropriate medical management and documentation according to local clinical and regulatory requirements.
Storage Conditions
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
- Keep vials in the original outer carton until use to protect from light and contamination.
- Typically stored at controlled room temperature as recommended by the manufacturer; avoid freezing or exposing to high temperatures.
- Ensure vials are properly closed until opened for a procedure; discard any unused product in an opened vial according to clinic protocol and local regulations.
- Keep out of reach of unauthorised personnel and patients.
Duration
Bio-revitalising and brightening effects are typically visible immediately after the session, with cumulative improvements in tone, texture and fine lines over a course of multiple treatments. Clinical and aesthetic protocols often involve several sessions spaced 1\u20133 weeks apart, with results potentially maintained for months depending on skin type, lifestyle and ongoing skincare.
Onset
Results are described as instant, with visible radiance and freshness immediately after treatment and no significant downtime. Improvements in fine lines, pigmentation and texture generally continue to develop over subsequent days and with repeated sessions.
