IV Infusion Filter
Description
Sterifix 0.2 µm infusion filters are inline IV filters designed for the retention of particles, elimination of bacteria and fungi, and prevention of air embolism during IV therapy. The filters use a Supor® 0.2 µm membrane with a low protein binding and feature venting hydrophobic PTFE membranes to safely expel excess air. They are suitable for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.

Indications

Composition
- Supor® membrane (0.2 µm, 10 cm²)
- Polyethersulfone (PES)
- Hydrophobic PTFE membranes
- PVC or DEHP-free tubing (depending on version)
Formulation
- Single-use inline IV filter with Luer-lock connections
Packaging
- Box of 50 filters
Usage
- Connect filter inline with IV set using Luer-lock fittings
- Ensure correct orientation for venting membranes
- Use for up to 24 hours per infusion
Contraindications
- Do not use if filter or tubing is damaged
- Not for direct patient contact without IV set
Adverse Effects
- Potential for filter blockage signaling incompatibility reactions
- No direct patient adverse effects when used correctly
Storage Conditions
- Store in a cool, dry place
- Protect from direct sunlight and contamination
