Description
The BD Vacutainer® Push Button Blood Collection Set 25G x 0.75\ with 7\ tubing and luer adapter is a sterile, single-use, winged safety blood collection set designed to reduce needlestick injuries and improve clinician and patient safety. Featuring an in-vein push-button safety mechanism, the device provides split-second, one-handed needle retraction while the needle is still in the vein, helping to minimise the risk of exposure to contaminated sharps without increasing patient discomfort. The 25-gauge, 0.75\ winged needle is connected to approximately 7\ of flexible tubing terminating in a standard luer adapter for attachment to BD Vacutainer® tubes via a holder or to other compatible collection devices. The dark/royal blue wing and hub colour identify the 25G size. Usage

- Open the sterile pack using aseptic technique and attach the luer adapter to a BD Vacutainer® tube holder or other compatible device if not pre-attached.
- Apply a tourniquet, select an appropriate vein and disinfect the puncture site according to institutional protocols.
- Grasp the winged set by the wings, align the needle bevel up and perform venipuncture using standard technique.
- Once blood flow is established, connect and fill BD Vacutainer® tubes as required, following correct order of draw and inversion recommendations.
- While the needle remains in the vein and after blood collection is complete, press the push-button safety mechanism to activate in-vein needle retraction; confirm that the needle has fully retracted and locked within the housing.
- Withdraw the device from the patient and release the tourniquet; apply pressure and dress the puncture site per local policy.
- Dispose of the entire used blood collection set immediately into an approved sharps container; do not attempt to reuse or override the safety mechanism.
- For short-term infusion use (if permitted), follow local IV therapy protocols and manufacturer guidance, monitoring the site for patency and complications.
Contraindications
- Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to stainless steel or any component materials of the device.

Adverse Effects
