Description

BD 1ml TB Syringe Complete with 26G x 3/8\ Needle is a single-use, low-volume tuberculin (TB) syringe supplied with a detachable 26-gauge x 3/8 inch stainless steel needle. The syringe features a central (concentric) slip tip nozzle and fine graduations suitable for precise measurement and administration of small volumes, such as tuberculin for TB skin testing or other intradermal and subcutaneous injections. It is supplied sterile, latex-free and intended for use by healthcare professionals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures requiring accurate dosing up to 1 mL.

Bnefits

  • 1 mL capacity with fine graduations for accurate low-volume dosing
  • Supplied complete with a 26G x 3/8" detachable needle for intradermal and subcutaneous use
  • Central (concentric) slip tip nozzle to support precise needle alignment
  • Sterile, single-use design to reduce risk of cross-contamination
  • Latex-free components to minimise risk of latex-related reactions
  • Compatible with standard TB skin testing and other small-volume injections

Indications

  • Administration of tuberculin for TB skin testing (Mantoux test) by trained healthcare professionals
  • Other intradermal injections requiring small, precise volumes
  • Selected subcutaneous or low-volume injections where a 26G x 3/8" needle is clinically appropriate
  • Use in hospital, clinic, GP surgery and occupational health settings for diagnostic skin tests and similar procedures

Composition

  • Barrel: medical-grade polypropylene
  • Plunger: medical-grade polypropylene
  • Plunger stopper: latex-free synthetic rubber (elastomer)
  • Needle cannula: stainless steel
  • Needle hub: medical-grade polymer (typically polypropylene)
  • Lubrication: silicone oil on the barrel interior for smooth plunger movement (as per typical BD tuberculin syringe design)
  • Latex status: not made with natural rubber latex

Formulation

  • Medical device only – no active pharmaceutical ingredient
  • Sterile, single-use tuberculin syringe with detachable 26G x 3/8" needle

Packaging

  • Box of 100 syringes complete with 26G x 3/8" needles
  • Each syringe–needle set supplied sterile in individual blister or peel-open packaging
  • Outer carton labelled with product name, gauge and length, batch/lot number and expiry date

Usage

  • For use only by trained healthcare professionals, following local clinical guidelines for intradermal and subcutaneous injections.
  • Check the packaging integrity and expiry date before use; do not use if the package is damaged or expired.
  • Open the sterile package, maintaining aseptic technique when handling the syringe and needle.
  • If the needle is supplied detached, securely attach the 26G x 3/8" needle to the central slip tip before drawing up medication.
  • Draw up the required volume of tuberculin or other prescribed medication, removing air bubbles according to clinical best practice.
  • Perform the intradermal or subcutaneous injection using the appropriate technique (e.g., shallow angle for intradermal injection) and in an appropriate anatomical site as per guidelines.
  • Do not recap the needle after use unless local policy allows and a safe recapping technique is employed.
  • Immediately dispose of the entire syringe and needle as a single unit into an approved sharps container after use.
  • Single use only – do not reuse, resterilise or share between patients.

Contraindications

  • Do not use if the sterile package is open, torn or otherwise compromised.
  • Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the device materials if clinically relevant (e.g., rare sensitivity to device plastics or lubricants).
  • Not intended for reuse or for any purpose other than administration of injectable medications or diagnostic agents as directed by a healthcare professional.

Adverse Effects

  • Local injection-site reactions including pain, erythema, bruising or minor bleeding associated with the injection procedure.
  • Risk of infection at the injection site if aseptic technique is not followed.
  • Potential for needle-stick injury to healthcare workers if safe handling and disposal procedures are not followed.
  • In very rare cases, hypersensitivity or allergic-type reactions related to administered medication or, rarely, to device materials.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a clean, dry environment at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
  • Keep in original packaging until point of use to maintain sterility.
  • Protect from moisture, dust and chemical exposure.
  • Store out of reach of children and non-clinical personnel.
