POCT dispensing tip / needle-free blood dispensing adapter

Description

A single-use, sterile dispensing tip designed to connect to S-Monovette® collection devices to permit hygienic, needle-free dispensing of small volumes of blood at the point-of-care (POCT) into test cartridges, strips or microcuvettes. The adapter provides a controlled, swabbable dispensing surface and a secure connection to S-Monovette® tubes/systems to minimise contamination and spillage during sample transfer.

Bnefits

  • Enables needle-free, hygienic transfer of capillary/venous blood from S-Monovette® devices to POCT test devices
  • Reduces risk of sample contamination and spillage during dispensing
  • Single-use sterile product reduces cross-contamination risk between patients
  • Designed for simple, quick attachment to S-Monovette® collection devices used in POCT workflows

Indications

  • Intended for use at the point of care to dispense small volumes of collected blood into POCT devices (e.g., glucose meters, rapid coagulation tests, lateral flow cartridges) where a compatible dispensing tip is required
  • Use in clinical, emergency, ambulance, bedside and laboratory POCT settings

Composition

  • Medical-grade plastics (typical materials: polypropylene body, HD-PE components or similar thermoplastics used for single-use medical fittings)
  • Elastomeric membrane or sealing elements where applicable (material varies by configuration)

Formulation

  • Sterile, single-use dispensing adapter supplied loose or in small packs; designed to attach to S-Monovette® systems and provide a controlled dispensing orifice for drops or microvolumes

Packaging

  • Typically supplied in small consumer packs or bulk multipacks depending on distributor (packaging and count vary by reseller). Sterile, single-use devices are usually individually wrapped or supplied in sealed sterile blister/foil packaging as per distributor configuration.

Usage

  • Use only by trained healthcare personnel for single-patient use.
  • Attach the dispensing tip to the S-Monovette® collection device per manufacturer instructions ensuring a secure fit.
  • Aseptically swab the dispensing surface if required by local protocol, then dispense the required volume into the POCT test device as directed by the POCT test IFU.
  • Dispose of the used tip as clinical waste per local regulations; do not reuse.

Contraindications

  • Do not use if sterile packaging is damaged or opened prior to use.
  • Not intended for collection or transfer of intravenous medications or large fluid volumes; use only for dispensing small diagnostic sample volumes as indicated.
  • Do not reuse — single-use only.

Adverse Effects

  • Risks related to POCT sample handling (e.g., sample contamination, incorrect dispensing volume leading to invalid test result) if not used per IFU or local POCT procedures.
  • Device-related adverse events are uncommon; clinicians should follow local incident reporting if device failure (leakage, poor fit) results in clinical impact.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in original, unopened packaging in a cool, dry place protected from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Observe manufacturer lot/expiry information on carton for sterility assurance.

Duration

Not applicable (single-use accessory)
