Paramedic rescue helmet / PPE head protection
Description
The Alexandra Paramedic Helmet (SKU 2797) is a high-performance protective helmet designed for paramedics and emergency medical personnel working in demanding environments. It features a lightweight Kevlar® shell combined with a PU (polyurethane) impact liner to provide excellent impact and penetration resistance while minimising weight. A leather headband and leather crown comfort cap enhance comfort during prolonged wear, while the ratchet adjustment system and two-point chinstrap ensure a secure and easily adjustable fit. SCBA clip mounts are integrated to accommodate self-contained breathing apparatus when required. The helmet is certified to EN443 (firefighting helmets) and EN166 (personal eye protection interface), and is supplied in a one-size configuration with adjustable internal harness.
Bnefits
- Lightweight Kevlar® shell provides high impact resistance with reduced weight, aiding comfort during long shifts.
- PU impact liner enhances energy absorption and shock protection in the event of impacts.
- Leather headband and leather crown comfort cap improve comfort, fit and perspiration management for extended wear.
- Ratchet adjustment allows rapid, precise fitting to different head sizes within the one-size design.
- Two-point chinstrap helps maintain helmet stability and retention during active emergency operations.
- SCBA clip mounts enable safe and secure integration with self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) where required.
- Certified to EN443 and EN166, demonstrating compliance with recognised European standards for firefighting helmets and eye-protection interfaces.
- Designed specifically for paramedic and emergency medical services use, complementing paramedic clothing and scrubs ranges.
Indications
- Head protection for paramedics and emergency medical personnel during pre-hospital care and rescue operations.
- Use in environments where there is a risk of head impact, falling debris, or other mechanical hazards.
- Situations where integration with SCBA or respiratory protection is required as part of emergency response.
- Use alongside other PPE such as protective eyewear, gloves and high-visibility garments in accordance with local risk assessments.
Composition

- Inner liner: PU (polyurethane) impact liner for energy absorption.
- Headband: leather headband for comfort and fit.
- Crown: leather crown comfort cap.
- Chinstrap: two-point adjustable chinstrap (material not specified in public product data).
- Integrated SCBA clip mounts for attachment of compatible self-contained breathing apparatus components.
Formulation
- One-size, high-performance paramedic rescue helmet with adjustable internal harness.
- Kevlar® composite shell with PU impact liner and leather comfort components.
- Equipped with ratchet size adjustment, two-point chinstrap and SCBA clip mounts.
- Certified to EN443 and EN166 for use as part of compliant PPE ensembles.
Packaging
- Supplied as a single helmet (unit quantity: 1).
- Individual retail/transport packaging (exact packaging configuration may vary by distributor).
Usage
- Before first use, inspect the helmet for any visible damage, cracks, deformation or missing components. Do not use a damaged helmet.
- Adjust the internal headband and leather crown comfort cap to fit the wearer’s head snugly but comfortably.
- Use the ratchet adjustment mechanism at the rear of the helmet (or as fitted) to fine-tune the fit until the helmet is stable on the head.
- Place the helmet squarely on the head, ensuring it sits level and covers the forehead as intended.
- Fasten the two-point chinstrap securely under the chin and adjust so that it is snug without causing discomfort; check that the helmet cannot be easily dislodged when the wearer moves or bends.
- When required, attach compatible SCBA components to the SCBA clip mounts according to the SCBA manufacturer’s instructions and local protocols.
- Use with appropriate eye and face protection in line with EN166 and local PPE policies (e.g. safety goggles or visor compatible with the helmet).
- After each use, visually check the helmet for signs of impact, cracking, deformation, chemical splashes or heat damage; remove from service and replace if any structural damage is suspected.
- Clean the shell and external components using mild detergent and water or manufacturer-recommended cleaning agents; avoid harsh solvents or abrasives that may degrade the helmet materials.
- Allow the helmet to dry naturally away from direct heat sources before storage.
- Follow any additional instructions provided by the brand or supplier and comply with local PPE inspection and replacement schedules.
Contraindications
- Not intended for use outside the scope of its certification (e.g. not for use as industrial climbing equipment or motorcycle helmet).
- Do not use if the helmet has sustained a significant impact, shows visible cracks, deformation, melted areas or other damage.
- Do not use if any component (shell, liner, chinstrap, ratchet system or SCBA clips) is missing, excessively worn or non-functional.
- Not suitable for users whose head size or shape cannot be accommodated safely within the one-size adjustable range.
- Use only in combination with compatible SCBA and accessories as specified by the respective equipment manufacturers and local safety policies.
Adverse Effects
- Prolonged wear may cause local pressure, discomfort or skin irritation on the scalp, forehead or under the chinstrap in some users.
- Improper adjustment or loose chinstrap may reduce protective performance and increase the risk of injury during impact.
- Excessive tightening of the headband or chinstrap may cause headaches or pressure marks.
- Use in high-heat or chemically aggressive environments beyond the helmet’s tested limits may result in material degradation and reduced protection if not managed according to safety guidelines.
Storage Conditions
- Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
- Keep away from sources of excessive heat, open flame, or chemicals/solvents that could degrade the Kevlar® shell, PU liner or leather components.
- Do not place heavy objects on top of the helmet or store it in a way that could deform the shell or liner.
- Follow routine PPE inspection schedules and manufacturer or supplier guidance for maximum service life and replacement intervals.
