Usage

  • Ensure the couch is placed on a level surface; adjust the stabilising foot until the frame is stable with castors retracted.
  • Before seating or transferring a patient, lock the castors and verify that the couch does not move.
  • Use the hydraulic foot pedal to raise or lower the couch to a safe working height before beginning examination or treatment.
  • Adjust the backrest and footrest by supporting the section, operating the gas-strut lever, moving to the desired angle and releasing the lever to lock.
  • For emergency recovery, return the couch to a fully horizontal position.
  • Do not use the castors for transporting patients; move the couch only when it is unoccupied.
  • Clean the couch upholstery routinely with warm water and mild soap using a damp cloth, then wipe with clean water and dry with lint-free towels.
  • For decontamination, clean using a dilute hypochlorite solution (up to 10,000 ppm) as per manufacturer instructions and discard cleaning materials safely.
  • Routinely inspect nuts, bolts, gas struts, upholstery fixings and cables (for electric versions in the 503 range) at least every six months and arrange annual service by a qualified engineer.
  • Replace torn or damaged upholstery sections promptly to maintain infection control and safety.
