Description

The DANIELS® Large Community Nursing Container (product code DD855) is a reusable 22 litre transport container designed to hold and transport large used medical instruments and related items between community locations and central decontamination or healthcare facilities. It features a robust polypropylene body with a fully removable lid, allowing easy loading and unloading of equipment. The container is particularly suitable for community healthcare professionals such as midwives, providing a safe and convenient way to carry multiple instruments to and from home births or other off-site care settings. Usage

Open the container by releasing the corner latches and removing the lid completely.
Place used instruments and any associated items into the container in accordance with local infection prevention and decontamination policies.
Avoid overfilling; ensure contents remain below a level that allows the lid to close securely without obstruction.
Refit the lid and secure all latches at the front corners before transport.
Label the container or attach documentation as required by local transport and infection control procedures.
Transport the container to the designated hospital, clinic or central decontamination area using appropriate vehicle arrangements.
On arrival, open the container in a controlled area and remove instruments for cleaning and reprocessing following local protocols.
Clean and disinfect the container externally (and internally if required) in accordance with institutional guidelines before re-use.

Contraindications

Not intended for the final disposal of sharps unless used in conjunction with appropriate approved sharps containers placed inside.
Do not use for liquids or free-flowing fluids without an appropriate inner receptacle.
Do not exceed the container capacity (22 litres) or load to a level where the lid cannot close and latch securely.
Do not use if the container body or lid is visibly cracked, significantly deformed, or latches are damaged.
Use only within transport and waste classifications that are compatible with UN Packaging Instruction 621 and local regulations.

Adverse Effects

Improper use (e.g. overfilling, failure to secure lid) may increase risk of spillage or exposure to contaminated instruments during transport.
Use of damaged or compromised containers may result in reduced containment integrity.

Storage Conditions

Store empty containers in a clean, dry environment at ambient room temperature.
Keep away from direct heat sources and open flames.
Do not expose to conditions that could cause warping, cracking or degradation of polypropylene (e.g. extreme temperatures, prolonged UV exposure).
Store in an area designated for clean equipment, separate from clinical waste storage zones.
