Mobile minor surgical light

Description

The DARAY S430 mobile-mount minor surgical light is a high-performance LED examination and minor surgery light designed for procedures under local anaesthetic in health centres, GP surgeries and outpatient departments. The multi-LED lighthead delivers a consistent, accurate light field with excellent colour rendering and minimal shadowing. With a colour temperature of 4,000 K, light intensity of approximately 90,000 lux at 0.5–0.75 m, and a working life of more than 50,000 hours, the S430 provides bright, reliable illumination while using significantly less energy than traditional halogen lights. The mobile-mounted version (S430LM / SL430LM) features a balanced arm system for one-touch positioning and a stable mobile base, making it ideal for minor surgery, maxillofacial, obstetrics, diagnostics, gynaecology, casualty and intensive care environments.

Bnefits

  • High and even LED light intensity (around 90,000 lux at working distance) for excellent visibility of the operative field
  • 4,000 K colour temperature with high colour rendering index to support accurate tissue colour discrimination
  • Multiple LEDs and optimised optics for strong shadow reduction and reduced eye strain
  • Energy-efficient LED technology that can cost up to about 75% less to run than comparable halogen lights
  • Long LED life of over 50,000 hours, reducing maintenance and downtime
  • No bulb changes required, reducing waste and running costs over the light’s lifetime
  • Balanced arm system for smooth, one-touch adjustment and wide range of movement
  • Mobile-mounted design for flexible positioning across treatment rooms and clinical areas
  • Three-button lighthead control with multi-level intensity adjustment for easy operation
  • Environmentally considerate design with low power consumption and no halogen, mercury, cadmium, lead or CFCs

Indications

  • Minor surgical procedures under local anaesthetic
  • Maxillofacial procedures requiring focused illumination
  • Obstetric procedures requiring directed task lighting
  • Diagnostic examinations in primary care and outpatient settings
  • Gynaecological examinations and minor procedures
  • Use in casualty (emergency) departments for examination and treatment
  • Use in intensive care units for bedside procedures and examinations
  • General minor operations and treatment room procedures requiring high-quality lighting

Composition

  • LED lighthead incorporating multiple high-intensity LEDs
  • Removable, autoclavable handle attached to the lighthead
  • Balanced metal arm system providing wide range of motion
  • Mobile floor stand with castor base for clinical use
  • Integrated electronic control system with three-button interface on the lighthead

Formulation

  • Medical device: LED minor surgical light on mobile stand
  • Light intensity approximately 90,000 lux at around 0.75 m and 70,000 lux at 1 m (±5%)
  • Colour temperature approximately 4,000 K
  • Colour Rendering Index (CRI) approximately ≥95 with R9 around 90
  • Light intensity adjustment over multiple stages (approximately 10–100% in 9 steps)
  • Average LED working life greater than 50,000 hours
  • Typical electrical draw around 13.5 W at 230 V, 50 Hz

Packaging

  • 1 x DARAY S430 / SL430 LED mobile-mounted minor surgery light (S430LM / SL430LM)
  • Supplied with balanced arm and mobile base according to configuration
  • User documentation and installation instructions included in manufacturer packaging

Usage

  • Install and commission the light in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and local electrical safety requirements.
  • Position the mobile base securely on a level floor surface before use.
  • Use the balanced arm to bring the lighthead into the required position above the operative or examination field.
  • Adjust the light intensity using the three-button control system on the lighthead, selecting the desired brightness level within the available adjustment range.
  • Use the removable handle on the lighthead, where fitted, to reposition the light while maintaining aseptic technique during procedures.
  • After use, switch the light off using the controls and return the lighthead and arm to a neutral, parked position.
  • Clean and disinfect the lighthead, handle and accessible surfaces regularly using compatible agents as specified in the manufacturer’s instructions for use.
