Blunt Micro Cannula for Aesthetic Injections
Description
The Aessoa Micro Cannula 30G 25mm is an ultra-thin, blunt-tip microcannula specifically designed for facial aesthetic procedures. Developed under the Aessoa brand by Oreon Life Science, it features an ultra-thin wall construction that significantly reduces friction resistance during insertion. This design helps to minimise patient discomfort, haemorrhage, and swelling while allowing smoother, more controlled injections with less pressure. Each cannula is supplied with a pre-matched puncture (guide) needle, enabling practitioners to create an entry point and then advance the blunt cannula for atraumatic delivery of dermal fillers and other high-viscosity injectable solutions across all facial areas.
Bnefits
- Ultra-thin wall microcannula reduces friction resistance during insertion.
- Helps minimise patient pain, bruising, haemorrhage, and post-procedure swelling.
- Blunt tip design enables more atraumatic passage through tissue compared with sharp needles.
- Requires less injection pressure due to a wider internal calibre, facilitating smooth, controlled injections.
- Suitable for delivering high-viscosity dermal fillers and other aesthetic injectables.
- Includes a pre-matched puncture (guide) needle to simplify entry-point creation.
- Designed for aesthetic procedures across all facial treatment areas.
- Supports even product distribution and improved control for the practitioner.
- Single-use, sterile device to support safe clinical practice.
Indications
- Use as a blunt microcannula for the injection of dermal fillers and other approved injectable products in aesthetic medicine.
- Facial aesthetic procedures across all treatment areas where a 30G 25mm microcannula is clinically appropriate.
- Techniques requiring smooth, controlled, and atraumatic delivery of high-viscosity solutions in the superficial to mid-subdermal plane.
- Procedures where reduction of bruising, bleeding, and swelling compared with sharp needles is desired.
Composition
- Sterile, single-use ultra-thin wall microcannula with blunt tip (specific materials as stated in the manufacturer’s instructions for use).
- Pre-matched sterile puncture (guide) needle supplied with each cannula set.
- Luer-lock compatible hub for secure attachment to standard syringes.
Formulation
- Ultra-thin wall construction to maximise internal diameter relative to outer gauge size.
- Blunt-tip microcannula engineered to glide through soft tissue planes with reduced trauma.
- Pre-matched sharp puncture needle for initial skin entry prior to cannula insertion.
- Designed for use with high-viscosity dermal fillers and similar injectable products in aesthetic procedures.
Packaging
- Commercial pack from Teleta Pharma: box containing 20 Aessoa Micro Cannula 30G 25mm units.
- Each unit consists of 1 sterile Aessoa microcannula (30G x 25mm) and 1 pre-matched puncture (guide) needle.
- Each cannula and guide needle set is individually sterile blister-packed.
- Outer carton labelled with product name, gauge and length, SKU AESM30/25/20, batch number, and expiry date.
- Intended for single use only; packaging must be intact prior to use.
Usage
- For professional use only; to be used by appropriately trained and licensed healthcare practitioners experienced in aesthetic injection techniques and facial anatomy.
- Inspect outer packaging and blister before use; do not use if damaged or if sterility is in doubt.
- Open the sterile blister immediately before the procedure under aseptic conditions.
- Attach the pre-matched puncture (guide) needle to the syringe containing the chosen injectable product and create an entry point in the skin at the planned access site.
- Remove the puncture needle and replace it with the Aessoa Micro Cannula 30G 25mm, ensuring secure luer-lock attachment.
- Insert the blunt cannula through the pre-formed entry point and advance along the desired tissue plane using gentle movements.
- Inject slowly with minimal and controlled pressure, continuously monitoring patient comfort and tissue response.
- Withdraw the cannula carefully once injection is complete and apply gentle pressure to the entry site if needed.
- Dispose of used cannula and puncture needle immediately after the procedure in an appropriate sharps container; do not re-sterilise or reuse.
- Follow any additional instructions and warnings provided in the manufacturer’s instructions for use and comply with local clinical protocols.
Contraindications
- Do not use on or through areas of active infection, inflammation, or compromised skin at the planned entry site.
- Do not use in patients who are not suitable candidates for the intended injectable treatment, as determined by the prescribing clinician.
- Do not use if the sterile blister or packaging is damaged or has been previously opened.
- Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to any material in the device if specified in the manufacturer’s instructions for use.
- Do not use in anatomical areas where the operator lacks adequate training or where cannula use is considered unsafe.
- Do not reuse or re-sterilise; reuse may increase the risk of infection, breakage, or other complications.
Adverse Effects
- Localised pain, discomfort, or tenderness at the entry site or along the cannula track.
- Bruising, minor bleeding, or haematoma formation at or near the entry point.
- Transient swelling or oedema related to tissue manipulation and the injected product.
- Rare risk of vessel injury or inadvertent intravascular cannulation if used incorrectly or in high-risk areas.
- Potential for infection if aseptic technique is not rigorously followed or if the device is reused.
- Device-related issues such as cannula bending or, very rarely, breakage if excessive force is applied.
Storage Conditions
- Store in a clean, dry environment at room temperature as specified by the manufacturer (typically 2–25°C).
- Keep away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture.
- Do not freeze.
- Keep in the original sterile packaging until immediately before use.
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
- Store out of reach of children and unauthorised persons.
Duration
Not applicable \u2013 the microcannula is a single-use medical device used during the injection procedure only and does not have a therapeutic duration.
Onset
Not applicable \u2013 any clinical effect is determined by the injected product; the microcannula itself provides mechanical delivery only.
