Developed by GAMA Healthcare, it provides an easy way to offer warm, rinse-free bathing products at the bedside, improving patient comfort and supporting infection prevention protocols. The unit maintains wipes at an approximately stable temperature around 40–45 °C and is intended for use in hospitals, care homes and other clinical environments.

Usage
- Install the Clinell Warmer upright on a stable, flat surface near a suitable mains power socket.
- Plug the warmer into the mains supply and ensure the power cable is not damaged or under tension.
- Open the door and place sealed packs of compatible Clinell products (e.g. Bed Bath Wipes, Chlorhexidine Wash Cloths, Shampoo Cap, Continence Care Wipes) vertically between the slots of the internal racks. Do not stack packs flat or on top of each other.
- Close the door securely.
- Press the power button to switch the unit on (indicator light illuminates).
- Press the warm button to activate the warming cycle. The unit will automatically heat to and maintain the correct operating temperature.
- Allow sufficient time for packs to reach the desired warmth; manufacturer brochures advise pre-heating packs (for example around 60 minutes in some guidance) and to also follow individual pack heating recommendations.
- Before applying any warmed product to a patient, always check the temperature of the pack on your own skin to ensure it is pleasantly warm and not too hot.
- When removing a pack for use, gently massage the pack as recommended to distribute liquid evenly through the wipes or cloths before opening.
- Do not place non-Clinell products or inappropriate materials inside the warmer.
- For cleaning: switch off the warmer, unplug from mains and allow to cool (manufacturer guidance suggests at least 2 hours). Remove internal racks and clean racks and interior using appropriate Clinell Universal or Clinell Detergent Wipes, then allow to dry fully before re-assembling and switching back on.
- Use the sterilize function (on models equipped with this feature) as directed in the user manual to provide additional antibacterial cleaning of the interior and outer surfaces of wipe packs.
- Follow local infection prevention policies and the full manufacturer’s user manual for detailed operating and maintenance instructions.
Contraindications
- Do not use the warmer with non-Clinell or non-recommended products unless explicitly approved by the manufacturer.
- Do not use on or store flammable, explosive or inappropriate materials inside the warmer.
- Not intended for sterilisation or high-level disinfection of instruments or devices.
- Do not use if the power cord, plug, housing or door appears damaged, or if the unit has been dropped.
- Avoid use in environments where the device may be exposed to water, excessive moisture or corrosive atmospheres.
- Do not use on patients if warmed packs feel excessively hot; always check temperature first.
Adverse Effects
- Potential risk of thermal discomfort or minor burns if wipes or cloths are overheated and applied to sensitive skin without prior temperature checking.
- Risk of electrical shock or fire hazard if the device is used with damaged power cables, improper mains connections or in wet environments.
- Possible product damage or reduced performance if incompatible items are placed inside the warmer or if packs are stored beyond the manufacturer’s recommended time.
- Risk of inadequate warming or inconsistent temperature if the door is opened frequently during the heating process or the unit is overloaded.
Storage Conditions
- Keep the warmer installed indoors on a dry, stable, flat surface.
- Operate and store in a clean, well-ventilated clinical environment away from direct water sources and excessive humidity.
- Avoid placing the unit near open flames, direct heat sources or in areas exposed to excessive dust.
- Unplug the warmer from the mains supply if it will not be used for an extended period.
- Store compatible Clinell packs in line with their own product storage instructions before placing them into the warmer.
Duration
The warmer is a reusable device used continuously in clinical areas. Compatible Clinell wipe or cloth packs can be stored in the warmer for an extended period (manufacturer literature references up to a maximum of approximately 14\u201330 days; local policy and the latest manufacturer guidance should be followed). Warmed packs are typically used immediately or within the same shift for bed bathing or patient cleansing.
Onset
Once powered on and activated, the Clinell Warmer automatically heats to its operating temperature and maintains a stable warm environment. Packs generally require a preheating period (for example up to around 60 minutes depending on load and pack type) before being optimally warmed for patient use.
