ECG Chart Paper (Z-Fold, Thermal)

Description

ECG Paper: Welch Allyn CP150 - Z Fold 5 x 200 Sheets is a thermal Z-fold ECG chart paper designed for use with Welch Allyn CP150 electrocardiographs and compatible with CP100 and CP200 models. The paper features a red grid on white thermal stock to provide clear, accurate recording of ECG waveforms. Each pad contains 200 Z-fold sheets (approx. 8.5 x 11 inch / 210 x 280 mm), and this product configuration supplies 5 pads per case, giving a total of 1,000 sheets. The Z-fold format ensures smooth feeding through the ECG device and allows reports to be easily handled, filed or stored in patient records. The paper is specifically formulated for ECG thermal printers to ensure consistent image quality and long-term legibility of traces when stored under recommended conditions.

Bnefits

  • Specifically designed and approved for use with Welch Allyn CP150 electrocardiographs (also compatible with CP100 and CP200 models).
  • Thermal Z-fold format feeds smoothly through the ECG printer for reliable, jam-free printing.
  • Red grid on white paper provides excellent contrast and readability of ECG waveforms and measurements.
  • Standard A4-type sheet size (approx. 8.5 x 11 inch / 210 x 280 mm) suitable for filing in patient notes and medical records.
  • Supplied as 5 packs of 200 sheets (1,000 sheets total) for efficient stock management in busy clinical environments.
  • High-quality thermal coating optimised for ECG equipment helps maintain print clarity when stored correctly.
  • Single-use chart paper reduces risk of cross-contamination compared with re-usable media.

Indications

  • Recording 12-lead resting ECG traces on Welch Allyn CP150 electrocardiographs.
  • Recording ECG traces on Welch Allyn CP100 and CP200 electrocardiographs where compatible.
  • Use in primary care, hospital wards, cardiology departments and diagnostic clinics requiring printed ECG reports for interpretation and archiving.

Composition

  • Thermal paper stock suitable for medical ECG printers.
  • White paper base with red-printed grid pattern.
  • Z-fold configuration for continuous feed through the CP150/CP100/CP200 ECG printer mechanisms.

Formulation

  • Chart type: Z-fold thermal ECG paper.
  • Dimensions: approximately 8.5 x 11 inch (about 210 x 280 mm) per sheet.
  • Grid colour: red on white background.
  • Sheets per pad: 200.
  • Pads per case: 5 (total 1,000 sheets).

Packaging

  • Supplied as a case containing 5 individual Z-fold pads.
  • Each pad contains 200 sheets of thermal Z-fold ECG paper.
  • Outer packaging clearly labelled with Welch Allyn branding, product reference (105353), compatibility (CP100/CP150/CP200) and quantity (5 x 200 sheets).
  • Pads are wrapped to protect against dust and moisture during storage and transport.

Usage

  • Verify that the ECG device (CP150/CP100/CP200) is powered off or in standby as recommended before loading paper.
  • Open the paper compartment of the Welch Allyn CP150 (or compatible model) according to the device user manual.
  • Place the Z-fold stack into the paper compartment with the thermal side and grid correctly oriented as indicated by the device instructions.
  • Feed the leading edge of the paper into the printer path up to the designated guide, ensuring the folds sit neatly to allow smooth advance.
  • Close the paper compartment securely and perform a test print or ECG printout to confirm correct loading and print quality.
  • Handle printed ECGs carefully and file them in patient records or store in an appropriate document management system.
  • Do not reuse printed or partially used sheets; discard waste paper in normal paper waste unless contaminated with biological material, in which case follow local waste policies.

Contraindications

  • Not suitable for use in non-compatible ECG devices that require different paper sizes, formats or roll configurations.
  • Do not use if paper has been exposed to excessive moisture, heat or physical damage, as this may compromise print quality and legibility.
  • Not intended for any purpose other than recording ECG traces in compatible devices.

Adverse Effects

  • No direct patient adverse effects when used as intended; it is a non-invasive consumable.
  • Potential for misinterpretation of ECG if paper is incorrectly loaded, damaged or discoloured, leading to incomplete or poor-quality traces.
  • Paper dust or edges may cause minor skin irritation or paper cuts to staff if handled carelessly.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Avoid exposure to high temperatures, humidity or chemical vapours, which can degrade the thermal coating and printed image quality.
  • Keep paper in its original packaging until use to protect from dust and moisture.
  • Do not store near strong heat sources or in environments exceeding manufacturer-recommended temperature and humidity ranges.
