Blunt micro cannula for dermal filler injection
Description
FMC Fine Micro Cannulae 30G 25mm is an electro-polished, ultra-thin wall, blunt-tip stainless steel micro cannula with a side port, designed for atraumatic treatment with all dermal fillers. The wider internal calibre reduces extrusion force and allows smoother, more controlled injection. A gently curved cutting edge around the side hole, together with the polished and coated surface, is intended to minimise tissue trauma. Each sterile, single-use cannula includes a matching pre-hole sharp needle and is individually blister-packed.
Bnefits
- Blunt tip design to support atraumatic injection and reduce tissue damage
- Ultra-thin wall and wider internal calibre for lower extrusion force and smoother product flow
- Electro-polished, specially coated surface to facilitate smooth passage through tissue
- Gently curved cutting edge around the side port to help minimise vascular and tissue injury
- High-quality stainless steel for flexibility and strength of the cannula shaft
- Gradation marks and hub orientation mark to assist with precise placement and control
- Supplied sterile and individually blister-packed for maximum sterility
- Includes a matching pre-hole sharp needle (introducer) of the same diameter for access
Indications
- Single-use sterile cannula for subcutaneous and dermal injection of hyaluronic acid and other dermal fillers
- Aesthetic facial procedures where a blunt micro cannula is preferred over a sharp needle to help reduce bruising and tissue trauma
Composition
- Electro-polished stainless steel cannula, 30G diameter, 25 mm length, with lateral side port and blunt tip
- Matching pre-hole sharp needle, 27G diameter, 13 mm length (introducer needle packaged with each cannula)
- Polymer hub suitable for standard luer connection (as implied by common clinical use)
- Sterile, single-use construction
Formulation
- Gauge: 30G cannula with 27G introducer needle
- Length: 25 mm cannula; 13 mm pre-hole sharp needle
- Configuration: Blunt-tip, side-port micro cannula with ultra-thin wall
- Pack size: Box of 24 sterile, individually packed cannula-and-needle sets
Packaging
- Each cannula supplied in an individual sterile blister pack
- Blister pack contains one 30G x 25 mm blunt cannula and one 27G x 13 mm pre-hole sharp needle of the same diameter
- 24 blister packs per outer box (Box of 24)
Usage
- For use only by appropriately trained healthcare professionals experienced in dermal filler injection techniques.
- Maintain aseptic technique throughout the procedure. Inspect the sterile blister before use; do not use if packaging is opened or damaged.
- Attach the supplied pre-hole sharp needle to an appropriate syringe and create an entry point at the desired injection site.
- Remove the sharp needle, then attach the FMC 30G x 25 mm blunt cannula to the syringe containing dermal filler or other approved injectable product.
- Introduce the cannula through the pre-made entry point and advance along the planned tissue plane, using the orientation and gradation marks to guide placement.
- Inject product slowly and with controlled pressure, taking advantage of the ultra-thin wall to minimise extrusion force.
- After use, immediately dispose of the cannula and introducer needle in an approved sharps container. Do not re-sterilise or reuse.
Contraindications
- Do not use if the sterile blister packaging is damaged or opened prior to use.
- Do not reuse or re-sterilise; reuse may increase the risk of infection, loss of sterility, and device malfunction.
- Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the device if such sensitivity is suspected.
- Do not use at sites of active infection, inflammation, or compromised skin integrity, in line with standard contraindications for dermal filler injections.
Adverse Effects
- As with other dermal injection devices, potential adverse events may include pain, bleeding, bruising, swelling, and infection at the injection site.
- Needle-stick injuries from the introducer needle or contaminated devices may transmit infection if not handled and disposed of correctly.
- Improper use may increase the risk of vascular injury or embolisation when combined with injectable fillers.
Storage Conditions
- Store at room temperature.
- Keep in original packaging until use to maintain sterility.
- Observe the manufacturer’s expiry date; the stated shelf life in the IFU is three years from date of manufacture.
- Protect from excessive heat, moisture, or direct sunlight.
Duration
Single-use device intended for one procedure only; not designed for reuse or prolonged indwelling placement.
Onset
Not applicable as a delivery device; the cannula provides immediate mechanical access for injection, while onset and duration of clinical effect depend on the product being injected.
