Polypropylene sterilizable tray

Description

A lightweight, durable medical instrument tray made from high-quality polypropylene with a solid plain base measuring 270 x 150 x 30 mm. Designed for clinical, surgical and aesthetic environments, the tray is 50% lighter than stainless steel alternatives and supports multiple sterilization methods including autoclave (up to 135°C), ethylene oxide, and hydrogen plasma. Smooth edges prevent pouch tearing during sterilization packing, while a moulded grip beneath the rim enhances handling in clinical use.

Bnefits

  • Lightweight and durable polypropylene construction – 50% lighter than stainless steel
  • Autoclavable up to 135°C and compatible with ethylene oxide or hydrogen plasma sterilization
  • Smooth edges prevent tearing of sterile packing materials
  • Improved removal of blood residue compared to stainless steel surfaces
  • Moulded grip feature improves handling during transport or sterilization
  • Corrosion-free, shatter-resistant material ideal for repeated clinical use
  • Reusable and compliant with medical device processing guidelines

Indications

  • Storage and organization of surgical, medical and aesthetic instruments during procedures
  • Use as a sterile field component after appropriate sterilization
  • Instrument transfer within clinical environments such as theatres, treatment rooms and aesthetic clinics

Composition

  • High-quality medical-grade polypropylene
  • Solid base construction with moulded grip beneath rim

  • Lid available separately (not included)
  • Pack size: 1
  • Delivered non-sterile; must be sterilized before clinical use

Usage

  • Clean and sterilize the tray before each clinical use using approved methods (autoclave, ethylene oxide or hydrogen plasma).
  • Ensure tray is dry before placing sterile instruments or materials.
  • Use gloves and aseptic technique when handling instruments placed on a sterilized tray.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners that may damage the polypropylene surface.
  • Inspect tray for cracks, warping or damage; discontinue use if any structural compromise is detected.

Contraindications

  • Do not use for patient contact or invasive procedures.
  • Do not exceed the maximum autoclave temperature of 135°C.
  • Not suitable for open flame or dry heat sterilization methods.
  • Avoid use if tray is visibly damaged, warped or degraded.

Adverse Effects

  • Risk of contamination if not sterilized properly before use
  • Potential for accidental instrument slippage if tray surface is wet
  • Possible deformation if exposed to temperatures above 135°C

Storage Conditions
