PDO twin screw threads

Description

LIFSkin PDO Twin Screw 27G 38mm x 20 is an advanced PDO thread system designed for facial and body rejuvenation. Each device uses two smooth polydioxanone (PDO) filaments twisted around each other and folded in half to create a twin screw configuration. The threads are preloaded in an ultra–thin-wall, sharp-tip 27G needle, allowing precise placement and strong tissue engagement for immediate tightening and lifting. As the biodegradable PDO material is gradually absorbed, it stimulates new collagen production, improving skin quality, firmness and fine lines. Each pack contains 20 sterile twin screw threads for professional, minimally invasive lifting and skin tightening treatments.

Bnefits

  • Twin screw design with two smooth PDO filaments twisted together and folded in half for enhanced volumising and grip
  • Ultra–thin-wall, sharp-tip 27G needle for accurate placement and reduced insertion force
  • Provides immediate tightening and lifting through mechanical support
  • Stimulates new collagen production as PDO gradually dissolves, improving skin elasticity and texture
  • Effective for correction of fine lines and minor wrinkles in multiple facial and body areas
  • Versatile thread suitable for both face and body skin tightening protocols
  • Minimally invasive, non-surgical alternative to traditional lifting procedures when used by trained practitioners
  • CE, ISO and GMP approved PDO thread line, manufactured under strict quality standards

Indications

  • Face and body skin tightening in suitable adult patients
  • Correction of minor wrinkles and fine lines
  • Neck skin laxity and contour refinement
  • Jawline definition and mild jowl tightening
  • Perioral lines (around the mouth)
  • Periorbital lines (around the eyes)
  • Forehead and glabellar fine lines
  • General rejuvenation where subtle lift, tightening and collagen stimulation are indicated and appropriate for PDO thread treatment

Composition

  • Two smooth polydioxanone (PDO) biodegradable synthetic polymer filaments twisted around each other and folded in half to form a twin screw thread
  • Medical-grade stainless steel 27G needle with ultra–thin wall and sharp tip for insertion
  • Sterile packaging materials suitable for single-use medical devices

Formulation

  • Implantable PDO twin screw thread (two twisted filaments, folded in half)
  • Needle gauge: 27G
  • Needle length: 38mm
  • Smooth PDO filaments wound in a screw configuration to enhance tissue engagement and collagen stimulation
  • Absorbable PDO material designed to hydrolyse gradually over several months while inducing neocollagenesis
  • Sterile, single-use, ready-to-use preloaded needle system

Packaging

  • Pack contains 20 x LIFSkin PDO Twin Screw threads (27G, 38mm)
  • Each unit supplied sterile in an individual blister pack with preloaded needle
  • Outer carton labelled with product name, gauge, length, number of units (20 per pack), batch number, expiry date and regulatory/quality marks (CE, ISO, GMP)
  • Distributed to verified professional customers via LPG Clinics Wholesale

Usage

  • Professional use only: LIFSkin PDO Twin Screw threads must be used exclusively by suitably trained and qualified medical or aesthetic practitioners experienced in PDO thread insertion and complication management.
  • Conduct a full medical history, assessment and treatment plan, including mapping of entry points and vectors based on the patient’s anatomy and aesthetic goals.
  • Cleanse and disinfect the treatment area thoroughly; apply appropriate local anaesthesia (topical and/or injectable) in line with local regulations and clinical judgement.
  • Mark intended insertion points and thread vectors on the skin prior to treatment.
  • Introduce the preloaded 27G sharp needle into the subdermal plane along the planned vector, taking care to avoid major vessels and nerves.
  • Advance the needle to the desired endpoint, then withdraw while leaving the twin screw PDO thread in place to provide lift and support.
  • Gently mould and position the tissue along the thread path to optimise lifting and contour, then trim any protruding thread at the entry site if required.
  • Repeat insertion with additional twin screw threads as necessary to achieve the planned correction, remaining within safe anatomical and procedural limits.
  • Provide post-procedure aftercare instructions, typically advising patients to avoid excessive facial movements, massage of treated areas, strenuous exercise, dental work, and heat exposure (sauna/steam) for an appropriate period, and to sleep on their back where possible for the first few nights.
  • Schedule follow-up to assess healing, symmetry and treatment outcomes, and to address any complications promptly.

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity or allergy to polydioxanone (PDO) or any component of the device
  • Active skin infection, inflammation, acne or dermatitis at or near the intended insertion sites
  • Severe autoimmune disease, uncontrolled diabetes or significant systemic illness that could impair healing or increase risk of complications, unless carefully evaluated and cleared by a physician
  • Bleeding disorders or current use of anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications that cannot be safely managed according to medical advice
  • History of keloid or hypertrophic scarring in areas planned for thread placement
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding (elective cosmetic PDO thread treatments are generally not recommended)
  • Significant psychological issues, unrealistic expectations or suspected body dysmorphic disorder
  • Any additional contraindications stated in the official LIFSkin PDO documentation or applicable local clinical guidelines

Adverse Effects

  • Common transient effects: local pain or tenderness, bruising, swelling, mild asymmetry and a sensation of tightness or pulling along thread paths
  • Localised bleeding or haematoma at insertion or exit points
  • Infection at the entry site or along the thread tract, potentially requiring antibiotics and/or thread removal
  • Thread visibility, palpability, dimpling or surface irregularities, which may require massage, adjustment or, in some cases, removal
  • Temporary sensory changes such as numbness, tingling or altered sensation due to tissue manipulation or proximity to superficial nerves
  • Rare but more serious complications including thread migration or breakage, persistent asymmetry, vascular compromise, nerve injury or chronic pain, all of which require prompt expert management
  • Possible foreign body or inflammatory reaction to PDO material, although PDO is generally well tolerated as an absorbable suture material

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and sources of heat, within the temperature range specified on the packaging (typically room temperature).
  • Keep the product in its original, sealed sterile blisters and outer carton until immediately before use to maintain sterility and protect the needle and threads.
  • Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
  • Do not use if the sterile blister or outer packaging is damaged, opened, wet or otherwise compromised.
  • Store out of the sight and reach of unauthorised persons and children; intended for professional clinical environments only.

Duration

Mechanical tightening and lifting are visible immediately after insertion. PDO filaments are usually resorbed over approximately 6\u20139 months, while collagen stimulation may support results for around 12\u201318 months or longer, depending on patient factors, treatment area, technique and lifestyle. Maintenance or repeat treatments can be planned individually by the practitioner.

Onset

Immediate tightening and lifting occur at the time of the procedure due to mechanical support, with progressive improvement in skin quality, firmness and fine lines over subsequent weeks as new collagen is produced around the PDO filaments.
