Description

Usage
- Ensure the stethoscope is clean and dry before replacing the rim.
- Remove the old pediatric diaphragm rim and diaphragm from the chestpiece, if present.
- Place the diaphragm centrally on the pediatric chestpiece.
- Stretch and snap the new non-chill rim over the edge of the chestpiece so it securely retains the diaphragm all the way around.
- Check that the rim is evenly seated with no gaps or twisting.
- Clean the chestpiece and rim between patients according to local infection-control protocols and the stethoscope manufacturer’s instructions.
Contraindications
- Do not use if the rim is visibly cracked, deformed or does not seat securely on the compatible Welch Allyn pediatric chestpiece.
- Not intended for use with non-compatible stethoscope models or brands.
Adverse Effects
- Very rare cases of local skin irritation or discomfort may occur if the rim or chestpiece is not cleaned appropriately between patients.
