Reusable hot/cold gel pack

Description

The REPEARL PACK HOT/COLD (18.5 x 11.5cm) is a flexible, reusable hot/cold microbead pack designed for targeted thermal therapy. Manufactured in France by INEX AESTHETIC GROUP under the REPEARL brand, this multi-purpose pack contains a Repearl thermal pouch filled with gel microbeads based on propylene glycol, sodium polyacrylate, colourant and water. It can be cooled in the freezer or heated in a microwave or hot water for use as a cold or warm compress. The pack is indicated particularly for post-cosmetic surgery care, helping to reduce pain and inflammation after laser treatment, plastic surgery and dermabrasion, and is also recommended for cosmetic uses such as bags and dark circles, beauty routines and relief of headaches or other localised discomfort. Sold individually, the pack’s compact 18.5 x 11.5 cm format makes it suitable for use around the eye area and on other small anatomical regions, following the instructions for use.

Bnefits

  • Provides both hot and cold therapy in one reusable pack for versatile at-home or in-clinic use.

Usage

  • General precautions:
  • Always inspect the pack before each use. Do not use if the pouch is punctured, leaking or damaged.
  • Do not apply directly to broken, irritated or highly sensitive skin. If discomfort or excessive redness occurs, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
  • Cold therapy:
  • Place the pack flat in the freezer for at least 2 hours before use (4 hours is recommended for optimal cold effect).
  • Remove from the freezer and gently knead/mix the microbeads so they are evenly distributed within the Repearl thermal pouch.
  • Test the temperature of the pack on the inside of the wrist or through a thin cloth to ensure it is not too cold for direct application.
  • Apply to the desired area (e.g. around the eyes, face, or other regions) for up to 20 minutes at a time.
  • Wait at least 20 minutes before any new application. If necessary, repeat applications of up to 20 minutes with appropriate intervals.
  • Heat therapy – microwave:
  • Place the pack flat in the microwave, ensuring it does not touch the walls of the microwave and can rotate freely if applicable.
  • Heat for the time and at the power indicated in the product leaflet for your microwave (follow manufacturer’s recommended heating times).
  • After heating, carefully remove the pack and mix the microbeads thoroughly to distribute heat evenly within the pouch.
  • Test the temperature on the inside of the wrist or through a cloth before applying to the skin.
  • If the pack is not warm enough, reheat in 5-second increments, checking the temperature each time until the desired warmth is reached. Do not overheat.
  • Apply to the target area for a maximum of 20 minutes per session.
  • Heat therapy – hot water:
  • As an alternative to microwave heating, the pack may be heated in hot (not boiling) water according to the instructions in the leaflet.
  • Typically, immerse the pack in hot water for the recommended time, then remove, dry the surface and check the temperature before application.
  • Safety guidelines:
  • Application time should not exceed 20 minutes, whether used hot or cold.
  • Allow at least 20 minutes between applications to prevent skin or tissue damage.
  • Always check the temperature of the pack before putting it on the skin to avoid burns or cold injury.
  • Prolonged or excessive application may cause injury, including burns or cold damage.
  • Do not allow unsupervised use by children or individuals who cannot remove the pack by themselves.

Contraindications

  • Do not use on broken, bleeding, infected or severely irritated skin.
  • Not recommended for individuals with known contraindications to cold or heat therapy (e.g. certain circulatory disorders, cryoglobulinemia, Raynaud’s phenomenon) unless specifically advised by a healthcare professional.
  • Use with caution in patients with reduced skin sensitivity (e.g. neuropathy) or impaired circulation who may not adequately perceive excessive heat or cold.
  • Not intended to substitute medical treatment for serious injuries, extensive burns or significant post-surgical complications; follow the treating physician’s specific post-procedure instructions.
  • Avoid use on infants and very young children without medical advice and close supervision.

Adverse Effects

  • Temporary redness or mild skin irritation, particularly if the pack is too hot, too cold or applied longer than recommended.
  • Risk of cold injury (frostbite-like damage) if the pack is over-cooled and applied directly to the skin for excessive periods.
  • Risk of burns if the pack is overheated or not properly temperature-checked before application.
  • In rare cases, contact irritation or allergic reactions to any component of the gel or the pouch material.
  • If pain, blistering, persistent redness, numbness or other unexpected reactions occur, discontinue use immediately and seek medical advice.

Storage Conditions

  • Store the unused pack in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources when not in use.
  • The pack may be stored in the freezer for cold applications as recommended, ensuring it lies flat and is protected from sharp objects that might puncture it.
  • Do not expose the pack to open flame or very high temperatures and do not boil.
  • Avoid puncturing, cutting or crushing the pack; discard if damaged or leaking.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets when not in use.

Duration

Intended for intermittent use in sessions of up to 20 minutes per application, with at least 20 minutes between applications. Total duration of use across days or weeks depends on cosmetic or post-procedure needs and professional recommendations.
