Usage

  • Place the stool on a level indoor surface suitable for castor-based furniture.
  • Sit on the stool with feet comfortably placed on the floor and within the footprint of the base.
  • Use the all-around release lever located beneath the seat to adjust the height between 45–59 cm until a comfortable working position is achieved; release the lever to lock the height.
  • Move the stool by rolling it gently on its castors; avoid dragging it across uneven thresholds or soft flooring that could impede movement.
  • Use the stool as an operator seat only; it is not intended for use as a step or support platform.
  • Periodically check that castors, gas-lift and fittings remain secure and function correctly; remove the stool from service if any damage or instability is observed.
  • Clean upholstery and base with appropriate non-abrasive clinical surface cleaners compatible with medical vinyl, following local infection-control protocols.
  • Do not exceed the manufacturer’s recommended safe working load (where specified by Plinth Medical for this seating range).

Contraindications

  • Not intended to be used as a step, ladder, patient transfer aid or standing platform.
  • Should not be used on steeply sloped, highly uneven or unstable surfaces where castored furniture may roll or tip.
  • Not suitable for environments where mobile seating is specifically prohibited or where furniture must be fixed in place.
  • Users should avoid exceeding any specified safe working load for the stool.
  • Use with caution in areas where fluid spills or floor contamination could significantly reduce castor traction.

Adverse Effects

  • Improper use (e.g. leaning excessively, using as a step, or sitting on the edge of the seat) may increase the risk of tipping and falls.
  • Extended use without appropriate ergonomic workstation setup may contribute to user discomfort or musculoskeletal strain.
  • Use on damaged or heavily worn castors may reduce stability or mobility of the stool.
  • Incorrect cleaning agents may damage vinyl upholstery over time, leading to cracking or degradation.

Storage Conditions

  • Store and use indoors in dry clinical or office environments.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or high heat sources which may fade or degrade upholstery and plastics.
  • Keep away from excessive moisture, corrosive chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the base or upholstery.
  • When not in use for extended periods, park the stool on a level surface and avoid stacking heavy objects on top of the seat.

Duration

Not applicable; this is a reusable clinical seating product and is used as required during clinical sessions.

Onset

Immediate provision of seating and height adjustment when the stool is put into use.
