Annual couch inspection and maintenance service
Description
Plinth Medical Service Coverage - 1x Year - 1x Couch is an annual inspection and maintenance service for a single Plinth Medical examination or treatment couch. The service is carried out by specialist Plinth Medical couch engineers and is designed to keep couches operating safely, smoothly and reliably throughout their working life. During the visit, the engineer performs a full safety inspection, lubrication and functional checks, refreshes or replaces worn plastic caps and ends as required, and issues a written report with recommendations for any repairs or component upgrades that may be needed. One unit of this product covers one couch for one year; for multiple couches and years, multiple units are purchased accordingly (e.g. 3 years for 3 couches requires 9 units).

Usage
- Determine the number of couches and years of coverage required; purchase one unit per couch per year of service (e.g. 3 couches for 3 years = 9 units).
- After purchase, provide the necessary site and equipment details to the distributor or Plinth Medical so that a service visit can be scheduled.
- Ensure the couch is accessible, clean and free from patients or stored items at the agreed service time to allow full inspection and maintenance.
- During the visit, discuss any known issues or concerns with the Plinth Medical engineer so they can be addressed or noted in the report.
- Review the written report provided for each couch, including any recommendations for repairs or upgrades, and arrange additional work as required.
- Keep service reports and any associated documentation as part of your equipment maintenance records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Repeat the purchase and scheduling process annually to maintain ongoing coverage for each couch in use.
Contraindications
- Not a clinical treatment and not intended for use on patients; it is a maintenance service for equipment only.
- May be limited to specific geographic areas or subject to Plinth Medical’s service coverage regions; customers outside standard areas should confirm availability before purchase.
- Does not in itself replace the need for routine user checks and cleaning between patients; normal daily/weekly checks remain the responsibility of the equipment user.
- Additional work or parts beyond the scope of the standard service may incur extra charges and are not automatically included in this coverage.
Adverse Effects
- No direct adverse clinical effects, as this is an equipment service; however, failure to act on recommended repairs or upgrades in the engineer’s report may increase the risk of couch malfunction or downtime.
- If service visits are not scheduled or access is not provided, couches may not receive the intended maintenance, potentially shortening their working life.
- Misunderstanding the coverage (e.g. assuming parts and major repairs are fully included when they may be chargeable) could lead to unexpected costs.
Storage Conditions
- Not applicable as a physical product; store related documentation (service agreements, reports and invoices) in line with local record-keeping policies.
- Ensure product and order information (e.g. SKU, serial numbers of couches, service dates) is retained and accessible for scheduling future annual services.
Duration
Coverage period is one year of service entitlement for a single couch, typically fulfilled by one scheduled annual service visit within that year.
Onset
Effective from the point the service contract is accepted and a visit is scheduled; practical benefits (inspection, lubrication, checks and report) occur once the engineer has completed the annual service visit.
