Usage

  • Place the chair on a level, stable floor surface in the treatment or examination room.
  • Adjust the seat height (45–59 cm range) using the gas lift control so that the clinician’s hips and knees are in a comfortable, ergonomic position relative to the patient and work surface.
  • Use the seat tilt lever to set a comfortable angle that supports a neutral spine and reduces lower back strain.
  • Use the backrest lever to adjust the backrest angle so that it supports the lumbar region while allowing adequate upper body mobility.
  • If the optional foot height control is fitted, use the foot pedal to raise or lower seat height hands-free during procedures, maintaining aseptic technique where required.
  • Check that the castors roll freely and that the base is stable before sitting and during movement around the patient.
  • Periodically inspect upholstery, levers, gas column and castors for signs of wear or damage; remove from service and arrange maintenance if any issues are noted.
  • Clean and disinfect the vinyl upholstery and hard surfaces between patients using compatible healthcare cleaning agents in line with local infection prevention policies.

Contraindications

  • Do not use the chair if there are visible signs of structural damage, instability, or failure of the gas lift mechanism.
  • Not suitable for use on uneven, excessively sloped or highly slippery floors where chair stability may be compromised.
  • Users whose body weight exceeds the manufacturer’s recommended safe working load (if specified in accompanying documentation) should not use the chair.
  • Do not use in environments where wheeled bases are contraindicated for safety reasons (for example, certain mobile theatre or transport settings).

Adverse Effects

  • Improper adjustment of seat height, tilt or backrest angle may contribute to clinician discomfort or musculoskeletal strain during prolonged use.
  • Use on uneven or unsuitable flooring surfaces may increase the risk of tipping or uncontrolled rolling.
  • Worn or damaged castors, levers or gas lift components can reduce stability and should be addressed promptly to avoid potential injury.
  • Inadequate cleaning or use of incompatible cleaning agents may damage upholstery surfaces over time.

Storage Conditions

  • Keep and use the chair in an indoor clinical environment, protected from rain and excessive moisture.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat sources that may fade or degrade vinyl upholstery and plastic components.
  • Do not store heavy items on the seat or backrest that could deform the foam cushions.
  • When not in use for extended periods, park the chair in a clean, dry area away from obstructing escape routes and clinical equipment.
