Water, alcohol and propylene glycol base designed to solubilise actives and enhance penetration.
Includes Polyquaternium-10 for light conditioning and improved skin feel.
Chlorhexidine Digluconate provides antimicrobial/preservative support to help keep the formula stable on skin and in the bottle.
Chelated with Tetrasodium EDTA and stabilised with ammonium hydroxide to maintain optimal AHA activity.
Fragrance-free, dye-free cosmetic formulation within the NEOSTRATA Clarify/Refine range.
Packaging
100 ml (3.4 fl oz) plastic bottle, typically with screw cap or flip-top applicator for use with cotton pads.
Outer retail carton in many markets with full INCI list, directions, warnings and cosmetic regulatory labelling.
Professional/aesthetic distributors (including Fillers Direct) list pack size as 100 ml for clinic and home-use retail.
Usage
Apply to cleansed skin using fingertips or a cotton pad, focusing on oily or breakout-prone areas (face, chest, back and other affected sites).
Use once daily for the first one to two weeks; if well tolerated, increase to twice daily thereafter, as directed by a skincare professional.
Do not rinse after application; allow the solution to dry before applying subsequent skincare products.
Can be used throughout the day, as tolerated, to freshen and tone non-sensitive skin.
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
Introduce gradually when used alongside other active treatments (e.g., retinoids, other acids) to minimise irritation.
Daily use of a broad-spectrum sunscreen is strongly recommended and sun exposure should be limited while using this high-strength AHA toner.
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity or allergy to Glycolic Acid, alcohol, Chlorhexidine or any listed ingredient.
Sensitive, highly reactive or rosacea-prone skin, as this high-strength hydroalcoholic AHA solution is not recommended for sensitive skin.
Broken, inflamed, eczematous or compromised skin unless specifically directed by a healthcare or skincare professional.
Concurrent use with multiple strong exfoliants or irritant topical treatments (e.g., prescription retinoids, peels) without professional guidance, due to increased risk of irritation.
Not for use on mucous membranes or near eyes; external use only.
Adverse Effects
Common AHA-related sensations such as stinging, tingling, burning or warmth may occur on application, especially in the early stages of use or on compromised skin.
Hydroalcoholic base may cause dryness, tightness or flaking, particularly with overuse or in combination with other drying agents.
Potential for erythema (redness), irritation or contact dermatitis in susceptible individuals; discontinue and seek advice if marked irritation, swelling or rash occurs.
Increased photosensitivity due to 8% Glycolic Acid; lack of adequate photoprotection can increase the risk of sunburn and post-inflammatory pigmentation.
Rare allergic reactions to Chlorhexidine Digluconate or other ingredients are possible and warrant discontinuation.
Storage Conditions
Store at room temperature, typically 15–25 °C, away from excessive heat, flame and direct sunlight.
Keep bottle tightly closed when not in use to minimise evaporation of alcohol and maintain formula stability.
Do not freeze.
Keep out of reach of children.
Duration
Intended for ongoing daily use as part of a long-term regimen for oily or acne-prone, non-sensitive skin; no fixed course is specified and duration should be based on clinical response and tolerability.
Onset
Immediate feeling of freshness and oil removal after each use; noticeable improvements in pore congestion, surface oiliness, texture and early signs of ageing typically develop gradually over several weeks of consistent use (around 4 weeks or more).
