Description

The Linak Footswitch 3 is a six-button electric foot control designed specifically for triple motor Plinth Medical couches. It connects via a round DIN plug and allows hands-free adjustment of three powered couch functions (typically height and section movements) using LINAK actuator systems. Intended as an original spare or replacement part for compatible Plinth couches, it improves workflow, ergonomics and infection control by allowing clinicians to adjust couch position with their foot while keeping their hands free for patient care.

Packaging

Usage

Ensure the couch is switched off and isolated from mains power before installing or replacing the footswitch, following local safety procedures.
Locate the appropriate round DIN control socket on the triple motor Plinth couch and firmly insert the Linak Footswitch 3 plug until fully seated.
Restore power to the couch and verify that all three motors respond correctly to the corresponding footswitch buttons before use with a patient.
Use the six buttons to adjust couch height and section positions as configured on the specific couch model, always observing patient comfort and safety.
Do not operate the footswitch with wet footwear or in standing water; keep the unit dry and free from spillages where possible.
Clean the outer surfaces regularly with a soft cloth and suitable medical-surface disinfectant; do not immerse the footswitch or cable in liquid.
Inspect the cable and plug periodically for damage; discontinue use and arrange replacement if the housing, cable or connector is damaged or if operation becomes unreliable.
Only qualified service personnel should carry out repairs, modifications or internal inspections.

Contraindications

Not suitable for use with non-compatible couches or actuator systems that do not support the Linak Footswitch 3 interface.
Should not be used in environments where liquid ingress or explosive atmospheres are present unless the couch and accessories are specifically rated for such use.
Do not use if the cable, housing or plug is visibly damaged, or if operation is erratic, as this may pose a safety risk.
