Arm Support for Clinical Stools
Description
The Multi-Positional Arm Support for Plinth Medical Stools is an optional accessory designed to fit selected Plinth Medical stool ranges (1014, 1015, 1033 and 1034). It provides an adjustable, stable support platform for the clinician’s arms and hands during minor procedures and precision work, improving comfort and posture when seated on a compatible Plinth stool.
Bnefits
- Provides stable support for arms and hands during minor procedures and clinical tasks.
- Improves practitioner comfort and ergonomics when working from a seated position.
- Helps reduce strain on shoulders, neck and upper back during repetitive or prolonged procedures.
- Multi-positional design allows adjustment to suit different users and working angles.
- Compatible with multiple Plinth Medical stool ranges (1014, 1015, 1033, 1034), offering flexible use across clinic seating.
- Supplied as an optional accessory that can be added to new or existing compatible stools.
Indications
- For use as an ergonomic arm and hand support for clinicians seated on compatible Plinth Medical stools.
- Particularly useful during minor operative procedures, examinations and treatments requiring fine motor control and hand stability.
- Suitable for general medical, surgical, dental and outpatient clinic environments where seated procedures are performed.
- Intended for professional clinical settings rather than domestic or non-medical use.
Composition
- Arm support pad: upholstered, padded top (typically using the same contract vinyl options as Plinth stools and couches).
- Support structure: metal support arm and mounting hardware compatible with specified Plinth stool models.
- Finish and upholstery to match or complement Plinth Medical stool ranges (subject to order specification).
Formulation
- Product type: mechanical arm support accessory for medical stools.
- Design: multi-positional arm rest mounted to compatible Plinth Medical stools.
- Adjustment: designed to allow positional adjustment (e.g. height/angle) to suit the user and procedure.
- Compatibility: optional accessory for Plinth Medical stool models 1014, 1015, 1033 and 1034.
- Supplied fully assembled or with simple mounting fixings for attachment to the stool (depending on supplier configuration).
Packaging
- Supplied as a single multi-positional arm support accessory (one unit per order).
- Packaged with mounting hardware and/or brackets required for fitting to compatible Plinth stools.
- Delivered in protective transit packaging to prevent damage to upholstery and metalwork.
- Accompanied by basic fitting and adjustment guidance from Plinth Medical or the reseller.
Usage
- Ensure the arm support is only fitted to compatible Plinth Medical stool models (1014, 1015, 1033, 1034) as specified by the manufacturer.
- Follow Plinth Medical’s fitting instructions or have the accessory installed by a competent person, ensuring all fixings are correctly tightened and secure before use.
- Adjust the arm support position (height/angle) so that the clinician’s shoulders are relaxed and forearms are comfortably supported while seated.
- Check that there is no interference with stool height adjustment, casters or foot operation after the arm support is fitted.
- Periodically inspect all mounting points and fixings for loosening or wear and tighten or service as required.
- Clean the upholstered surfaces with appropriate disinfectant and cleaning products compatible with Plinth Medical upholstery, following local infection prevention policies.
- Do not use the arm support as a lifting handle or as a step; it is designed solely to support arms and hands during seated procedures.
Contraindications
- Not suitable for use with stool models other than those specified (1014, 1015, 1033, 1034) unless explicitly confirmed by Plinth Medical.
- Do not use if the arm support or mounting hardware is visibly damaged, loose or incomplete.
- Not intended to bear body weight beyond normal arm support; should not be used as a seat, step or patient support surface.
- Do not use in environments where the upholstery or materials are incompatible with required decontamination or cleaning agents.
Adverse Effects
- Improper installation or loose fixings may increase the risk of sudden movement or instability, potentially leading to clinician discomfort or minor injury.
- Incorrect ergonomic adjustment may contribute to shoulder, neck or arm strain over time.
- Damaged or worn upholstery or padding may reduce comfort and support effectiveness.
Storage Conditions
- Installed accessory should be kept in a normal indoor clinical environment, protected from excessive moisture and temperature extremes.
- If stored separately before installation, keep in original packaging in a dry, clean area away from direct sunlight and sources of damage.
- Avoid contact with harsh chemicals or solvents that may degrade the upholstery or painted/metal surfaces.
- Maintain upholstery according to Plinth Medical cleaning guidance to preserve material performance and appearance.
Duration
Durable accessory designed for long-term use over the service life of the compatible Plinth Medical stool, subject to routine inspection, maintenance and upholstery wear.
Onset
Immediate ergonomic support and stabilisation of the arms and hands when correctly installed and adjusted on a compatible stool.
