Usage
Ensure the stethoscope is clean and dry before replacing the rim.
Remove the old pediatric diaphragm rim and diaphragm from the chestpiece, if present.
Place the diaphragm centrally on the pediatric chestpiece.
Stretch and snap the new non-chill rim over the edge of the chestpiece so it securely retains the diaphragm all the way around.
Check that the rim is evenly seated with no gaps or twisting.
Clean the chestpiece and rim between patients according to local infection-control protocols and the stethoscope manufacturer’s instructions.
Contraindications
Do not use if the rim is visibly cracked, deformed or does not seat securely on the compatible Welch Allyn pediatric chestpiece.
Not intended for use with non-compatible stethoscope models or brands.
